Dr Disrespect reveals scrapped Deadrop plans as he still wants to make new game

Dr. Disrespect recently unveiled his abandoned Deadrop project plans and shared that his ambition to create a game is as strong as ever, mere weeks following the announcement of Midnight Society’s closure.

youtube sensation Dr Disrespect unveiled Midnight Society in 2021, a gaming studio he co-founded with former Call of Duty and Halo developers, to create his own extraction shooter video game. The project swiftly garnered attention, inviting fans to participate by offering their input on the early stages of development for its game – Deadrop.

Back in June 2024, I found myself parting ways with the studio following my admission that my Twitch suspension was indeed the result of me sending inappropriate messages to a minor. Sadly, only seven short months after, Midnight Society had to shut down its operations permanently.

On the 11th of February, Doc posted a series of tweets about abandoned Deadrop projects, also hinting at his intentions to develop a game in the future.

After establishing our founding team and attracting top-tier AAA talent to shape our studio, our initial creative strategy for unveiling Deadrop initially centered on a brainstorm about an interactive shooting range. He then mentioned that the goal was to provide players with a clear, open approach to game development.

To establish an initial feel and offer players a peek into our innovative, transparent approach to game creation, we chose to create and construct a shooting range. This served as an opportunity for our artists to perform preliminary stress tests using Unreal Engine 5.
