According to the creative director, the most recent addition to the Doom series, titled “Doom: The Dark Ages,” is not going to be the final chapter in the Doom franchise.
As a gamer, I can tell you that according to creative director Hugo Martin during a preview event (via PC Gamer), “Doom: The Dark Ages” isn’t the conclusion or final chapter. Instead, we’re deeply engrossed in this project right now, and it’s not serving as a punctuation mark at the end of a sentence.
It seems that Id Software isn’t actively working on a new game in the Doom series following “Doom: The Dark Ages,” but they haven’t closed the door entirely on future games within the universe. Instead, their main focus is on completing their current project before considering anything else.
On May 15th, the new game ‘Doom: The Dark Ages’ will be released for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. If you’re planning to play on PC, make sure your graphics card supports ray tracing. Unfortunately, this game won’t include multiplayer features. The creators at Id Software developed ‘Doom: The Dark Ages’ with inspiration drawn from the original ‘Doom’ and ‘Doom 2’.
Preorders are available now for the Collector’s Edition of The Doom: Dark Ages, with an added perk being early access. This means you can start playing the game two days ahead of schedule, beginning on May 13. Additionally, it will be a Day One release on Game Pass.
