Bethesda and Id Software have disclosed the PC requirements for Doom: The Dark Ages. They’ve outlined details for minimum, recommended, and top-tier settings, with these specifications representing an appreciable boost compared to Doom Eternal’s demands.
To play this game, your computer system must support ray tracing technology, even on the lowest settings. Bethesda will share information about path tracing requirements at a later time. They’ve also given a few GPU examples for their specifications, with the minimum requirement being a Nvidia RTX 2060 Super or AMD RX 6660. For the recommended setting, you’ll need an RTX 3080 or RX 6800, and for the highest settings, you should have at least an RTX 4080 or RX 7900K.
For optimal and high-quality settings, the system RAM is suggested to have 32GB, though 16GB will suffice for minimum requirements. The game developers at Id Software are emphasizing visual realism with ray-traced lighting and shadows, as well as enhanced gore and destruction. All recommended specifications suggest the game should run at 60 frames per second (fps), so lower-end hardware might work if you can accept a slower frame rate.
