The competition between Xbox and PlayStation has become so intense that major Xbox games are now often released on PlayStation 5, and a few PlayStation 5 exclusives have also made their way to Xbox Series X|S. However, don’t expect to see popular PlayStation titles like Horizon Zero Dawn or Ghost of Tsushima coming to Xbox anytime soon.
Someone spotted Horizon Zero Dawn listed on the German Xbox Store on Reddit, and it wasn’t the only PlayStation game showing up there. However, other Reddit users quickly realized this was likely a glitch with Google’s indexing, not a mistake by Microsoft. Apparently, the error also causes some Nintendo games to appear on the Xbox Store.
Bringing PlayStation 5 games to Xbox Series X|S could be a smart move. We’ve seen how well it worked for Helldivers 2 – the game’s player base has grown significantly, making it even more popular. Sony already shares the MLB The Show franchise with other platforms because of their agreement with Major League Baseball, but they aren’t required to do the same for their other major games.
Xbox is now releasing games on PlayStation that used to be exclusive to Xbox. Recently, Gears of War: Reloaded came out on PS5, joining Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Sea of Thieves, and Forza Horizon 5. While Microsoft hasn’t released all of its biggest games on PlayStation yet, it’s now possible that popular franchises like Halo could also appear on PS5 in the future.
