Don’t Breathe 3 will only happen on one condition says star Stephen Lang

I’m really excited to hear this! Stephen Lang, who was amazing in ‘Don’t Breathe’, has said that a third movie is likely happening. He mentioned that everyone who worked on the first two films really wants to complete the story as a trilogy, and they’re all working towards making it a reality. Fingers crossed!

Stephen Lang is known for playing the villain in the Avatar films, and he’ll soon be taking on another antagonistic role in the upcoming action sequel, Sisu 2, also known as Sisu: Road to Revenge.

Between other roles, he starred as the villain in the 2016 horror film Don’t Breathe, and later reprised the character with a hint of redemption in the 2021 sequel, Don’t Breathe 2.

He played a tough, blind army veteran in both movies, and fans have been hoping for a third film for years. We recently asked the actor if another installment was possible.

Stephen Lang on why it’s important to get Don’t Breathe 3 right

During an interview with TopMob about the movie Sisu 2, we also asked Stephen Lang about Don’t Breathe and whether a third film might be made.

“Yes,” Lang replied. When we asked for more details, he explained that while it’s still some time away and not guaranteed, he believes everyone is generally moving towards the same goal.

According to Lang, the key to achieving this is to complete the story as a proper three-part series.

Lang explains that many people prefer to continue the project within the existing company framework, and it’s important to get the next installment just right. He feels the first one was flawless, and the second was excellent. Now, he hopes the third installment will bring everything together and complete the series, believing it’s achievable.

Following the release of Don’t Breathe 2, the writer and director, Rodo Sayagues, suggested a third film could bring back Norman Nordstrom, the Blind Man played by Stephen Lang, and Rocky, the main character from the first Don’t Breathe movie.

According to Sayagues, the stories aren’t finished. The first movie deliberately left things open-ended for both main characters, Norman and Rocky. Neither faced consequences for their actions – specifically, Rocky committed theft, taking a significant amount of money, and both got away with it.
