A recent report may reveal what Doctor Strange, played by Benedict Cumberbatch, will be doing during the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie.
What will Doctor Strange reportedly be up to in Avengers: Doomsday?
During a recent online discussion on The Cosmic Circus, a source named Alex Perez clarified Doctor Strange’s part in the upcoming movie. Contrary to earlier reports that Strange might side with Doctor Doom, Perez says Strange will actually be investigating strange problems across different universes.
So, according to Perez, the next Doctor Strange movie is going to be all about these ‘incursions’ – basically, cracks between universes. Strange and Clea will be teaming up to figure out how to stop them before everything just… falls apart. It sounds like the fate of the entire multiverse is on their shoulders!
Since the details of the new movie are mostly a secret, many fans think the story will focus on problems arising from different universes colliding. If that’s true, it makes sense that Doctor Strange and Clea (played by Charlize Theron) will be trying to fix these issues and prevent a larger crisis.
The movie will feature several well-known actors from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as the Invisible Woman, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes (the Winter Soldier), Letitia Wright as Shuri (Black Panther), and Paul Rudd as Ant-Man.
Okay, so I’m getting super excited about the cast list for this next movie! We’re definitely going to see Wyatt Russell back as U.S. Agent (John Walker), and Tenoch Huerta will be playing Namor. I’m thrilled Ebon Moss-Bachrach is involved – he’s playing The Thing, but also Ben Grimm! Simu Liu is reprising his role as Shang-Chi, and Florence Pugh is back as Yelena Belova, which is awesome. Kelsey Grammer is bringing his Beast (Dr. Hank McCoy) to the big screen again, and Lewis Pullman is taking on Bob, who I think will eventually become the Sentry. Danny Ramirez is going to be Joaquin Torres, taking over the Falcon mantle, and Joseph Quinn will be playing the Human Torch (Johnny Storm). David Harbour is also in it as Red Guardian (Alexei Shostakov), along with Winston Duke as M’Baku and Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost. And of course, Tom Hiddleston is back as Loki! Seriously, what a lineup!
The next X-Men movie will feature the return of several familiar faces, including Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, James Marsden as Cyclops, and Channing Tatum as Gambit.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to release on December 18, 2026.
