Doc Is Already Crushing The Competition On Netflix, And Here’s How New Fans Can Catch Season 2 ASAP

Netflix has a lot of popular original shows, but sometimes programs that first aired on other channels become huge hits on the platform. The success of Suits led to a spinoff series being approved, and Manifest found a new life with another season after arriving on Netflix. Now, a show currently airing on traditional TV has come to Netflix, and it’s quickly become more popular than most other titles. Netflix subscribers seem to really enjoy Doc, and thankfully, there will be more episodes available in the 2025 TV season.

What Is Doc?

Doc quickly became a hit for Fox, breaking viewership records when it debuted earlier this year. It marked the network’s return to medical dramas after The Resident concluded. The show, starring Molly Parker, Omar Metwally, and Jon Ecker, centers around Dr. Amy Larsen, a direct and forthright head of internal medicine. After a car accident and a traumatic brain injury, she suffers significant memory loss.

After an accident, she lost memories of her divorce, a new romance with a coworker, and a significant personal tragedy, but thankfully, most of her medical expertise remained intact. She now focuses on rebuilding her life. The show’s first season consisted of just ten episodes, but Fox has decided to order a larger second season, premiering in the fall. Season 2 will feature a complete run of 22 episodes, airing during the 2025-2026 television season. This is great news for fans, and promises more compelling storylines.

As of today, Doc is the second most popular show on Netflix’s Top 10 list, sitting between Wayward at #1 and Black Rabbit starring Jason Bateman at #3. That’s a great position, especially since Doc‘s first season only started streaming on September 23rd and it originally aired on another network! What’s more, the show is performing much better than all other network TV shows currently available on Netflix. The remaining nine spots in the Top 10 are filled entirely by Netflix originals.

How To Watch More Doc

Here’s the latest: you can jump right from the first season into the second without a lengthy break. However, you won’t find it on Netflix. Doc, originally a 22-episode show on Fox, is being released the traditional way – one episode each week.

I was so excited when the second season premiered on Fox on September 23rd! They threw in a love triangle, which was a great twist. New episodes are coming out every Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET for the next few weeks, and I’m already setting my DVR! Plus, I was thrilled to hear that Desperate Housewives star Felicity Huffman is joining the cast. Honestly, even though Amy is getting better, the show is still totally captivating and definitely hasn’t lost its momentum!

If you’re eager to watch Season 2 episodes right away, you’ll need to watch them live on Fox on Tuesday nights. If you prefer to stream, you can find the newest episodes with a Hulu subscription. Deadline reports that Netflix now has the rights to the complete Doc library, but new Season 2 episodes will be available to stream on Hulu the day after they air.
