Honestly, the team behind Dispatch was really stressed about potentially losing Aaron Paul as a collaborator. They pushed so hard to get the first season done, with a super demanding schedule, and they were worried he wouldn’t want to work with them again after going through all of that.
The first season of Dispatch was a huge hit in 2025, receiving praise from critics and even a nomination for a prestigious Game Award. Now, players are eagerly awaiting news about whether a second season is in development.
The creators of the unique superhero series recently spoke with Eurogamer and revealed the incredibly demanding work schedule during development. They were even worried that Aaron Paul, who voices Robert Robertson, might quit due to the pressure.

It was a really tough process,” explained Pierre Shorette, the game’s narrative director. “We were concerned the actor wouldn’t want to collaborate with us again after such a lengthy undertaking. It felt like slowly wearing him down, a little bit at a time.
After not talking for two months, we’ll contact him and ask for four hours of his time. It’s frustrating because I believed I had moved past this situation.

Despite their best efforts, they weren’t able to reduce the amount of work for the Breaking Bad actor, as he was essential to the entire game. Because of this, AdHoc needed him to return and record additional lines over a period of two years.
Game director Nick Herman believes the creator wouldn’t have participated if he’d known what the project would become, and producer Shorette concurred, stating he definitely would have declined.
While Aaron Paul is famous for playing Jessie Pinkman, he’s also voiced characters in several animated series. He’s appeared in shows like Invincible, often compared to Dispatch, and BoJack Horseman, which has a similar feel.
As a fan, I was really struck by how much the game’s story seemed to connect with the actor. Shorette explained that it really kept him invested throughout the whole project, and honestly, thank goodness it did! She said the game just wouldn’t be the same without him, and I totally agree. He is the game at this point!
While a second season of Dispatch hasn’t been officially announced, the creators have promised updates are on the way. Plus, Aaron Paul has expressed his enthusiasm for returning!
