Dispatch art director says Malevola’s physique was inspired by influencer LeanBeefPatty

The art director at Adhoc Studio has revealed that the design of the villain Malevola from Dispatch wasn’t only inspired by 1990s pop culture—her physique was specifically based on fitness influencer LeanBeefPatty.

I just learned something really interesting! Apparently, the artist behind Malevola specifically designed her to be super muscular. Derek Stratton told IGN she was built with the physique of LeanBeefPatty – you know, that incredibly fit online personality! It’s cool to hear the inspiration behind such a powerful character.

Stratton explained that the inspiration for Maleficent’s style actually came from a surprising place: Cindy Crawford’s iconic 1992 Pepsi commercial. The ad, featuring Crawford exiting a red Lamborghini in a white top and denim shorts, became hugely popular and is still remembered as a defining moment of 90s pop culture.

Stratton explains that Maleficent’s look draws inspiration from a famous commercial’s style and her demonic nature. He pictures her as a mix of Cindy Crawford from that ad, a classic hot rod demon, and the muscular build of the LeanBeefPatty character.
