Disney is busy with its film studio and upcoming releases, especially trailers for its highly anticipated blockbuster, Avatar: The Seed Bearer, which comes out worldwide on December 19th. However, this hasn’t distracted them from continuing to support two of their current successes, The Little Mermaid and Frozen.
Both The Little Mermaid and Frozen, with The Little Mermaid recently receiving a live-action remake starring Halle Bailey in 2023, are getting new life in a different format. Disney is partnering with Papercutz, a comic book publisher, to release reimagined versions of Ariel and Anna’s stories for young readers in 2026.
Keep an eye out for Disney The Little Mermaid: Ariel’s Adventure Journal on February 24, 2026, and Disney Frozen Anna’s Adventure Journal: Behind the Castle Walls on March 3, 2026. Both journals will feature lovely artwork and handwriting.

The new Disney Adventure Journals series begins with books based on The Little Mermaid and Frozen. These stories, and future installments, will highlight the bravery, strength, and imagination of Disney heroines – promising delightful reads for fans.
Disney Heroines Have a Story to Tell
Both of these animated series are hugely popular, so many fans are excited to see what happens next. Just seeing Ariel on the cover of The Little Mermaid, happily enjoying life on land, suggests a fun adventure is coming. And Anna looks determined to forge her own path, clearly not willing to back down anytime soon (I couldn’t resist the reference!).
More adventures are coming soon with the release of Mulan’s Adventure Journal: The Palace of Secrets on February 17, 2026, and The Princess and the Frog Tiana’s Journal on March 24, 2026. These books complete a four-part series perfect for middle-grade readers and anyone who loves these Disney princesses.
