Disneyland performers hospitalised following reports of “unknown odor”

Several Disneyland employees were hospitalized after a strange odor was detected at the park.

Disneyland promotes itself as a place of joy, but recent health issues involving guests and performers have cast a shadow on that image.

In October 2025, a woman in her sixties passed away soon after experiencing the Haunted Mansion ride at Disneyland’s New Orleans Square.

On March 10, 2026, several actors at the Star Tours ride in Tomorrowland became sick after an unusual smell was reported in the area.

“Building materials” cause illness at Disneyland

Yesterday around lunchtime, eight employees at Disneyland’s ‘Star Tours – The Adventure Continues’ attraction became dizzy and had trouble breathing, and were taken to several hospitals in Anaheim, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Anaheim Fire and Rescue responded to a report of an unusual smell in the backstage area of Tomorrowland at Disneyland. Seven people were taken to the hospital as a result.

According to Disneyland and Anaheim Police, the incident happened because of building supplies left backstage by a contractor. A park spokesperson confirmed to EW that cast members received medical attention from paramedics at the scene and were then released.

So far, no visitors to Tomorrowland have reported feeling sick, and park officials say they have no health concerns about anyone who has been to the park.

The rides continued as normal yesterday, including Star Tours, where guests can experience an adventure within the Star Wars universe.
