Disney+’s 10 Best Shows Of 2025, Ranked

Disney+ launched a number of new original shows in 2025, and we’ve ranked the top 10. While 2025 offered a lot of good content on Disney+ (including shows co-produced with Hulu), the number of shows created solely for Disney+ was a bit lower than in previous years.

In 2025, we didn’t see as many live-action Star Wars shows as in previous years. The same was true for Marvel shows on Disney+ – they weren’t being released as often as they were in the early 2020s. 2025 was the last year before Marvel Studios made big changes to how it produced TV shows, so the platform released any remaining shows from the old system all at once.

Many of these shows were still available, including the 2025 Star Wars releases. Adding in some other original series from Disney+, beyond Marvel and Star Wars, gives us a good selection of strong content from Disney. Here’s a ranked list of the top 10.

10. Eyes of Wakanda

I really enjoyed Eyes of Wakanda! It was a four-part animated series from Marvel Studios that showed Wakanda’s history through the eyes of its warriors and spies. Each episode felt unique, with different styles and stories. The animation was gorgeous, and they really dug into Wakanda’s political side, which was fascinating. Plus, the voice acting was top-notch!

Despite being a good movie, it lands at number 10 because it feels more like a side story than a main event. Recent Marvel films have built up expectations for interconnected narratives, and this one doesn’t quite deliver on that front, leaving it feeling a little incomplete.

Ultimately, Eyes of Wakanda feels disconnected from the larger story, making it seem unimportant despite being enjoyable. Other similar stories also stand alone, but they either intentionally do so as part of the plot, or offer enough compelling content to feel special – something Eyes of Wakanda doesn’t quite achieve.

9. LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past

Just as Eyes of Wakanda feels separate from the main Marvel universe, LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past, coming to Disney+ in 2025, stands on its own. But what gives the LEGO Star Wars show an edge is that it was always presented as a non-official story, allowing for more creative freedom.

Few anticipated that LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy – Pieces of the Past would officially be part of the Star Wars Skywalker Saga—and Lucasfilm didn’t intend for it to be either. Unlike Eyes of Wakanda, this story doesn’t feel unimportant or lack connections to the larger Star Wars universe.

The result is a charming and humorous story that feels like a playful take on Star Wars. It’s full of fun references to the Star Wars universe, with clever jokes and satire. The LEGO elements enable imaginative and exciting action sequences, and the story and characters are perfectly enjoyable.

The show’s lighter, more family-friendly approach prevents it from being ranked higher, as it lacks the intense drama and emotional depth found in other series.

8. Marvel Zombies

Marvel Zombies is another standalone animated Marvel story, and like other 2025 Disney+ originals that aren’t connected to the main Marvel universe, it doesn’t feel as essential. It shares this issue with Eyes of Wakanda. However, it does stand out in a way similar to the LEGO Star Wars series.

While Eyes of Wakanda takes place within the main Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Zombies is set in a separate reality within the larger Marvel multiverse. This gives it a different feel than Eyes of Wakanda, similar to the non-canon nature of LEGO Star Wars. However, Marvel Zombies is notably more intense and graphic than LEGO Star Wars, making it a more dramatic series.

The action in Marvel Zombies is particularly strong because it cleverly uses the zombie concept to create some of the best fight scenes seen in any Marvel animation. Unlike Eyes of Wakanda, it features compelling relationships between familiar heroes, and explores dynamics that haven’t been possible in the main Marvel Cinematic Universe, making it a more engaging watch.

Even though it’s generally good, the final episode of Marvel Zombies loses a little focus. While the finale is large in scope and ambitious, it hints at a second season that feels unnecessary and may never materialize. Ultimately, Marvel Zombies is an entertaining show on Disney+, but it’s not particularly memorable after you’ve finished watching it.

7. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man

Released on Disney+ in 2025, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man was another animated series exploring the multiverse, like other Marvel shows. It shared a similar advantage to Marvel Zombies over Eyes of Wakanda – viewers weren’t strongly focused on how it connected to the main MCU storyline. And, simply put, the show benefited from featuring the popular character Spider-Man.

Spider-Man remains a beloved superhero, and stories that capture his core personality are usually a hit. “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” fit that bill, delivering classic Peter Parker experiences, memorable supporting characters, clever connections to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and hints of exciting things to come in a potential second season.

The main weakness of Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man was that it didn’t quite connect emotionally with viewers. However, the show has a lot of potential, and future seasons could address this and become more impactful.

6. Ironheart

Ironheart stands out as the first Disney+ series within the Marvel Cinematic Universe to truly focus on a key hero within the main timeline, with story developments that could significantly impact the franchise as a whole. This sets it apart from previous MCU shows, and it’s also boosted by its strong visuals, excellent acting, and a thrilling conclusion.

Unlike other shows, Ironheart really stood out with its emotional core. It explored themes like family, loss, and grief, and cleverly combined them with Riri Williams’ skills in technology, leading to some genuinely moving moments.

Seeing Mephisto finally appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after so much fan speculation was incredibly rewarding. However, the Ironheart series felt a bit hurried and limited by the standard six-episode length, which is now thankfully being phased out for future Marvel TV shows.

Besides Riri, her family, and a few close friends, the supporting characters in Ironheart weren’t developed enough compared to the main characters. The show’s villain, The Hood, especially felt underdeveloped. With a few extra episodes, Ironheart could have been a stronger series overall.

5. Star Wars: Visions Season 3

Star Wars: Visions is a series of standalone stories set in the Star Wars universe, but it’s not considered official canon. This freedom allows the show to focus on stunning visuals and creative storytelling. By bringing together animation studios from around the world, Visions offers a uniquely imaginative take on the Star Wars galaxy.

The third season maintains this high visual quality, making even the less compelling episodes look amazing. It also breaks free from established Star Wars lore, letting Visions explore bolder action, character designs, and settings than previously possible within the official canon.

Okay, let’s talk Star Wars: Visions Season 3. It’s a really strong showing, landing at number five on my list of Disney+ shows from 2025. Honestly, if every episode had hit the same incredible highs, it could have been even higher. A few just didn’t quite reach that peak, but overall, it’s still a fantastic addition to the Star Wars universe.

4. Win or Lose

“Win or Lose” is Pixar’s first original series that isn’t connected to Star Wars or the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As you’d expect from Pixar, it features beautiful animation, talented voice actors, and meaningful lessons for audiences of all ages.

What truly sets Win or Lose apart is how its story unfolds. Instead of a traditional Pixar narrative, the show focuses on the individual experiences of players leading up to a major game. This approach allows for more complex and meaningful themes, creating a deep emotional bond with the characters and the show as a whole.

Compared to many other shows on this list—particularly those ranked 7th through 10th, which didn’t leave a lasting impression—Win or Lose stands out. It’s a charming, well-made, and engaging story on Disney+. It only falls slightly behind the top three shows because it doesn’t quite reach their level of suspense or have the same widespread popularity.

3. Daredevil: Born Again

Image via Disney+

While Daredevil: Born Again didn’t quite reach the success of the original Daredevil series on Netflix, it’s still a strong show – currently ranking as the third best Disney+ release of 2025. What really makes it stand out is bringing the characters and gritty tone of the Netflix Defenders universe into official Marvel Cinematic Universe canon, which is incredibly exciting for fans.

As a huge fan of superhero adaptations, I have to say Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio are just perfect as Daredevil and Kingpin. Honestly, seeing them reprise those roles alone was enough to get me excited about the Born Again series – their chemistry and portrayal are that good!

While some storylines, like the one with Muse, weren’t very strong and the show felt a bit patched together with elements from different stages of production, Daredevil: Born Again ultimately delivered thanks to its intense action, compelling character development, connections to the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe, and a particularly strong finale.

Based on the last two episodes, the upcoming seasons of Daredevil: Born Again might be as strong as the original series. Without the comparison to one of the greatest TV shows ever made – and acknowledging that I’m a dedicated fan of the Disney+ show – Born Again could have easily been considered a top-tier production.

2. Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2

I really connected with Percy Jackson and the Olympians. I was a huge Percy Jackson fan growing up, reading the books while others were into Harry Potter. So, I was always going to enjoy a well-made and accurate adaptation of the story, and this show delivers on that.

Season 2, which premiered on Disney+ in 2025, is even better than the first. It’s a bolder, grander, and more sophisticated continuation of the story. The performances are stronger, the action sequences are more impactful, and the world feels even bigger. It’s fantastic to see these beloved stories brought to life so well.

If the rest of the season is as good as the beginning, Percy Jackson and the Olympians will be a huge success. However, another show already claims the title of best Disney+ show of 2025 – and is also considered one of the greatest science fiction series ever made.

1. Andor Season 2

Season 2 of Andor is arguably the best installment in the entire Star Wars saga, and alongside its first season, ranks among the greatest television shows ever made. It’s a sophisticated series that stands out within the Star Wars universe, boasting stunning visuals and tackling complex themes rarely seen in the franchise. Andor uniquely delves into the brutality of the Empire and the sacrifices made by those fighting against it, carving out a distinctive niche within the Star Wars canon.

Season 2 of Andor truly cemented its status as an exceptional show. It was remarkably well-received, and at one point, all of its final five episodes maintained an incredibly high score of 9.5 or higher on IMDb. Even after a slight dip to 9.4 for a couple of episodes, the ratings clearly demonstrate how outstanding Andor season 2 was.

With compelling character development, outstanding performances, and intense action, Andor stands out as one of the best shows in the Star Wars universe and across the sci-fi genre. Many consider it a truly great television series, making the second season the most anticipated show on Disney+ in 2025 – and it’s likely to be a cut above the rest.
