Disney+ Confirms Imminent Release of 4 New Star Wars Sequels

Even with only a few months left in 2025, Lucasfilm has four more Star Wars sequels planned for fans. While 2025 has been a quieter year for the franchise as it prepares for a big return to cinemas in 2026, fans haven’t been left wanting. They’ve enjoyed popular releases like the finale of *Skeleton Crew* Season 1 and the highly praised *Andor* Season 2.

Disney+ will add two new Star Wars series in 2025: *Star Wars: Visions* and *Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past*. Both shows will continue the Star Wars story with fresh and distinct approaches.

Here’s a full list of all the Star Wars sequels coming out for the rest of 2025.

Every Star Wars Sequel Remaining in 2025

The Duel: Payback

As a huge fan of *Star Wars: Visions*, I’m really excited for Season 3 coming in October! It’s going to do something new for the series – we’re getting sequels! Unlike previous seasons which were all standalone stories, some of these new episodes will actually continue the narratives we already loved from the show. It’s a cool way to expand on those worlds and characters.

Next up is *The Duel: Payback* from the renowned anime studio Kamikaze Douga. This installment continues the samurai-themed story that began with *The Duel*, the first episode of *Star Wars: Visions* Season 1. Like before, *Payback* will be visually striking, using the same unique black and white, painterly style, and taking place in a Star Wars universe inspired by feudal Japan.

When we last saw The Ronin, the hero of *The Duel*, he was fleeing from Sith warriors who were pursuing him across the galaxy for punishing their wrongdoing. The next episode will show The Ronin unexpectedly teaming up with one of those pursuing Sith to fight a corrupt Jedi known as The Grand Master.

The Lost Ones

“The Lost Ones” is a new installment in *Star Wars: Visions* Season 3. It continues the story from “The Village Bride” which appeared in Season 1, and is again being created by the animation studio Kinema Citrus.

A new animated short features young Jedi F, who viewers may recognize from *The Village Bride*. She’ll face off against her old teacher, Shad-Rah, but trouble arises when the refugee ship she’s traveling on is captured by the Empire.

Continuing the story of the Jedi after the devastating Order 66, The Lost Ones follows F as she travels the galaxy, carefully concealing her Force abilities and protecting a dangerous secret.

The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope

Following their debut in *The Ninth Jedi*, Kara and Juro will be back in *Star Wars: Visions* Season 3. The new installment, *The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope*, continues their story as they try to escape dangerous Jedi who are hunting them.

The exciting news is that *Child of Hope* is just the beginning of a larger project from Production IG, the studio behind *Star Wars: Visions*. At Star Wars Celebration 2025 in Tokyo, they announced a new *Visions* spin-off series called *Star Wars: Visions Presents*. This series will feature more extended stories in the *Visions* style, and *The Ninth Jedi* will be the first installment.

The episode *Child of Hope* is expected to connect the story of *The Ninth Jedi* with the upcoming *Star Wars: Visions Presents* season, setting up a large, season-long storyline for the characters Kara and Juro.

Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past

It’s surprising that a funny LEGO Star Wars show that changed the established Star Wars story is now one of the most eagerly awaited Disney+ sequels this year. *Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy: Pieces of the Past* will premiere on Disney+ on Friday, September 19th, continuing the story from 2024’s *Rebuild the Galaxy*.

This fun, animated adventure follows Sig Greebling, a brave young hero, on his quest to find the Cornerstone. This strange object has scrambled the established Star Wars timeline, leading to the appearance of unexpected characters like Darth Revan and a villainous Jar Jar Binks as they travel the galaxy.

In the upcoming installment of Rebuild the Galaxy, Sig will continue his galactic journey. At the same time, the villain Darth Dev is facing betrayal from his former apprentices, all while they independently pursue Sig.
