Discovery in RDR2 after 7 Years. Mysterious phenomenon appears only at night

Red Dead Redemption 2, launched in 2018, remains remarkably timeless. Its compelling story, expansive open world, and impressive graphics still draw players in, and it’s easy to see why there are such high expectations for the next installment in the series, GTA 6.

Rockstar Games cleverly used the expansive game world, hiding lots of Easter eggs for players to discover. Recently, in December 2025, we found a new puzzle just waiting to be solved.

Spider from dreams?

Fans of the game Red Dead Redemption 2 are investigating a new mystery, spearheaded by YouTuber Strange Man, who focuses on puzzles within the Rockstar game world. The puzzle begins with a spider carving on a telephone pole southwest of the refinery near Leviticus Cornwall. If you find this carving between 3 and 4 AM, the pole will be covered in a web made of feathers, which you can then shoot down.

If we position the spider on the world map, we can find eight web locations, each connected to a different leg. It’s important to remember that these webs don’t all appear at the same time – a YouTuber documented exactly when each one appears (at the 1:43 mark of their video).

Rockstar has a history of hiding playful secrets in their games, like a spider web appearing at a certain time in both GTA 5 and GTA Online, and Madam Nazar referencing spider webs in a fortune she tells. Interestingly, the game files refer to these webs as “spiderdream,” and the feathers found nearby look like the cursed talismans players encounter during the “Wisdom of the Elders” missions.

Strange Man quickly came back with some new information. Another player discovered that between 1 and 2 AM, a spider web briefly appears on top of the spider on the map. When viewed from a specific angle, this web covers up part of the spider, making it look like the letter “N” has been replaced with a symbol that looks like a telegraph pole. This suggests we should investigate a pole located in the north. Shooting that pole unlocks more clues, leading us to a pole in the west.

The investigation has hit a dead end. The latest clue points to a guitar in Fort Wallace, but there’s nothing else obvious to follow. Players are wondering if this is part of a bigger mystery, or just leftover content from the game’s creation that was never finished. Either way, fans are excited to revisit these theories after seven years and are determined to solve the puzzle before GTA 6 comes out.
