Discover the K-Drama That’s the Perfect Match for Virgin River Fans!

While we eagerly anticipate Virgin River Season 7, let’s indulge in a Korean drama that offers similar emotions, albeit some viewers argue it surpasses it in quality – an “infinite” improvement, they say.

Reminding you, it’s barely been a month since Virgin River Season 6 premiered on our screens, following a long wait (equivalent to a year) for fresh episodes. Fortunately, we had the confirmation of Season 7 well in advance.

Unfortunately, there’s a catch: We’re unsure about both the premiere date of Season 7 and when production will begin. In the interim, it seems prudent to explore other options.

Fortunately, Netflix seems to have delivered their content seamlessly, without drawing much attention. One Korean drama shares striking similarities with the plotlines of Virgin River, and it’s ready for your viewing pleasure at this very moment.

Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha is “better” K-drama version of Virgin River

Back in 2021, I got hooked on K-drama Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, a series that dropped me right into a charming seaside village. In this peaceful setting, I found myself following the journey of a dentist who decides to make a new life there. As fate would have it, she crosses paths with a handyman whose heart is as big as his willingness to help the townsfolk. Now, some fellow gamers say that compared to Virgin River, this show’s narrative takes the cake – it’s that good!

A user on Reddit expressed their viewpoint: “I believe Hometown Cha Cha Cha surpasses Virgin River in quality. While the early installments contain a certain cheesiness, the later episodes evoked tears from me that no episode of Virgin River has managed to do. The performances and emotional climax were outstanding.

I really enjoyed Hometown Cha Cha Cha; it’s far superior to V.R in my opinion. It had me laughing out loud and tearing up, just like a baby! And the acting was top-notch too.” Another person agreed with me on that.

A third chimed in, “It’s impossible that you compared a masterpiece like Hometown Cha-Cha to virtual reality… laugh it off immediately!

One disadvantage to note is that while Virgin River boasts a long run of seven seasons, Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha unfortunately doesn’t have any more to offer. It hasn’t been renewed for additional episodes, so once you finish the 16 available ones… your viewing journey comes to an end.

Nevertheless, it will certainly serve its purpose. The play essentially reimagines Mel’s odyssey, moving from California, escaping a lifetime of urban baggage, by flipping the gender roles. If you’re a fan of Mel and Jack’s romantic storyline, you’ll undoubtedly be pleased with the outcome.

As a die-hard fan, I couldn’t be more thrilled! It turns out, this fantastic content is readily accessible on the streaming platform without needing a VPN. What’s even better is that it’s widely available across numerous international regions!

Stream “Virgin River” and “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” on Netflix right now! Additionally, don’t miss out on the highly anticipated K-movies of 2025.
