Destiny 2’s Glaives Are Now Unstoppable After Massive Episode Heresy Overhaul

Historically, the Exotic Glaives in Destiny 2 have been challenging to wield effectively, often proving underpowered compared to other weapons, and rarely warranting their exclusivity to a particular class.

Frankly speaking, while the Hunter’s Glaive, known as Edge of Concurrence, was quite decent, Edge of Action and Edge of Intent were rather disappointing in terms of Exotics within the game. However, with the updates brought by Episode Heresy, these two weapons have received significant enhancements, significantly improving their performance.

As a dedicated gamer, I’ve noticed some updates in my favorite game. Now, both Edge of Action and Edge of Intent characters need six energy charges to activate their special abilities. You can gather these charges by either attacking or clashing with the Glaive; every successful hit will reward you with one charge.

Once you amass six energy charges, you’ll have the ability to deploy a unique attack. This can result in either setting up a Remote Barrier with an Action Boost or a Healing Turret with an Intent Boost. Both of these options are exceptionally potent; the first one provides you with a persistent Void Defense Shield, while the second offers continuous healing.

As a devoted fan, I’ve found a strategy that makes dying in most activities an exception rather than the rule: keeping a constant balance of buffs, always having either a shield or turret deployed. This setup is so effective that it feels like I can get up close and personal with bosses without fear, landing powerful melee attacks to pile on charge and maintain my active buffs.

Not only that, but each of these Glaives has been equipped with their respective subclasses’ most powerful traits. This allows you to take advantage of the enhanced Destabilizing Rounds with Edge of Action and Incandescent on Edge of Intent, turning these effective area-of-effect weapons into great choices for their intended purpose.

Why didn’t Edge of Concurrence get buffed?

In simpler terms, the Edge of Concurrence was slightly improved by gaining an extra feature called Jolting Feedback. This new addition makes it easier for the Edge of Concurrence to stun enemies, reducing the need to use its unique ability as often.

Instead of Jolt being hard to administer nowadays, it’s quite straightforward. In contrast to its contemporaries, Edge of Concurrence provides minimal practical value. Essentially, it functions as an electric staff that shocks enemies, particularly effective for crowd control, especially in high-enemy activities such as Onslaught.

Originally, this weapon was unquestionably the top choice among the initial trio of Glaives before Episode Heresy. However, following the update, it might be considered inferior to the other two. The revised versions now provide similar damage but with significantly better functionality, placing Hunter players in a challenging position.

As a dedicated guardian, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news! At present, I can wield all three Glaives across any class, which feels like a delightful twist that could either be an oversight or a long-awaited change in policy. Fingers crossed it’s the latter, as class-specific weapons have never been my favorite. Here’s to hoping Bungie has finally waved goodbye to this restriction!

Apart from these, other Unique Arms are also causing a stir in the game dynamics. The rumor mill suggests that No Land Beyond might reappear soon within this very episode, resurrecting one of the classic weapons from the initial Destiny game.
