Destiny 2 Unwavering Duty god roll for PvE & PvP

With so many powerful weapons available in Destiny 2’s The Edge of Fate expansion, it’s easy to miss some truly excellent options, like Unwavering Duty.

The Unwavering Duty machine gun first appeared in Season 19 and received a significant update in The Edge of Fate. Now, in Season 27, Bungie has equipped it with a strong set of perks, making it effective in both PvE and PvP activities.

Solar builds are incredibly popular right now due to recent improvements and the benefits from the Unwavering Duty artifact. With the right stat combinations, these builds can quickly defeat both enemies and other players.

Here’s what you should be on the lookout for while farming the gun from Trials of Osiris.

Unwavering Duty PvE & PvP god roll – Meta analysis

PvE God Roll
PvP God Roll
Barrel: Chambered Compensator
Magazine: Flared Magwell
Perk 1: Incandescent
Perk 2: Killing Tally or Burning Ambition
Masterwork: Reload Speed
Barrel: Arrowhead Brake
Magazine: Ricochet Rounds
Perk 1: Dynamic Sway Reduction
Perk 2: Tap The Trigger or Killing Tally
Masterwork: Range

Let’s start with PvE options. A strong choice is combining the talents Incandescent and Burning Ambition. Though it might seem excessive, the ability to apply Scorch consistently – both when defeating enemies and through continuous damage – makes the Unwavering Duty build effective for quickly eliminating groups of enemies and dealing high damage to single targets.

If you already have a strong weapon for big enemies like Champions and bosses and just need something to quickly defeat groups of smaller enemies, replacing Burning Ambition with Killing Tally is a good choice.

For any perks you haven’t chosen yet, focus on getting Flared Magwell and a Reload Speed Masterwork. Unfortunately, the Unwavering Duty perk doesn’t allow for automatic reloading with Reconstruction.

To improve accuracy in player-versus-player combat, you definitely need to use Dynamic Sway Reduction and Tap The Trigger with the Unwavering Duty weapon. If you’re on PC, Fourth Time’s the Charm can give you free ammo for accurate shots, but it’s not very dependable when using a controller on consoles.

No matter what you choose, always prioritize perks that increase your weapon’s range, like Ricochet Rounds and its upgraded version, Masterwork. This applies to all platforms.

That covers everything important about Unwavering Duty, but it’s not the only powerful weapon in Destiny 2 right now. For more ideas on how to build strong characters, check out our guides for Auric Disabler and Agape.
