The MIDA Mini-Tool, a classic weapon from Destiny 2, has been reintroduced in the Ash & Iron update, and this new version boasts some incredibly powerful combinations of perks.
Similar to the first version, this Mini-Tool features the Solar element, which gives the Submachine Gun a powerful and popular combination of perks often used in PvE activities.
Although the gun’s special abilities aren’t as impressive for player-versus-player combat, it still offers interesting options for anyone wanting to experiment with different character builds.

Just in case it wasn’t clear before, the MIDA Mini-Tool can indeed get both the highly sought-after Heal Clip and Incandescent perks. As you’d expect, this combination makes the Mini-Tool an incredibly powerful weapon for quickly defeating multiple enemies and staying alive, particularly if you also focus on increasing your reload speed with the remaining perk slots.
This will help you quickly regain health after reloading. If you’d rather increase your weapon’s range, replace the Flared Magwell with Ricochet Rounds.

When fighting other players (PvP), perks that extend the range of your Mini-Tool are incredibly helpful. Specifically, Smallbore and Ricochet Rounds are essential, while Perpetual Motion and Master of Arms offer valuable stat boosts and damage increases after each kill.
Once you reach a high enough Power level to earn Tier 3 or better versions of the weapon, you can start getting copies of Mini-Tool with useful benefits for both PvE and PvP activities. This updated version of the gun also works well with the redesigned Exotic weapon, MIDA Multi-Tool.
How to get MIDA Mini Tool
You can now get the updated MIDA Mini Tool by playing Solo and Fireteam Operations within the Portal system in The Edge of Fate.
You can get the MIDA Mini Tool by completing various missions and activities. However, to get it faster, focus on activities that specifically list it as a featured reward. This will significantly improve your chances of obtaining the weapon.
That covers everything about the MIDA Mini Tool, but it’s not the only powerful weapon in Destiny 2 right now. If you’re looking for more great builds, check out our guides for Seraphine Haze and Submersion.
