Destiny 2: Heresy Is Going Back To The Dreadnaught, But With A Twist

In about a month, Destiny 2: Heresy will be here, transporting players once more to the drifting Hive vessel known as the Dreadnaught. This ship was previously seen in The Taken King expansion, but it has experienced alterations since then. Although players have engaged in battles within its walls before, the updated Dreadnaught presents a fresh challenge.

Nikko Stevens, Destiny 2’s Narrative Architect, mentioned during a PlayStation feature that the return of the Dreadnaught in Heresy is notable because it will bring about changes and experiences we haven’t encountered before. After nearly a decade, the Dreadnaught has been reawakened, causing the Vanguard and Guardians to pay attention across the system. We are now given an opportunity to explore what the Dreadnaught has transformed into following Oryx’s defeat, with no Navigator present anymore.

On the ominous Dreadnaught, a multitude of Taken foes lie in wait for players. The objective of this mission is to counteract the widespread corruption that has almost entirely taken over the ship. Consequently, a fresh activity called “The Nether” will be unveiled in this mission. Here, players are assigned to neutralize the ship’s internal weapon systems and halt the Taken corruption from advancing further. Additionally, both players and their adversaries can experience positive or negative effects from boons that add an element of unpredictability to the power dynamics between them.

On February 4, Destiny 2: Heresy will debut, accompanied by a partnership with Star Wars that incorporates gear, armor ornaments, accessories, emotes, and finishers based on iconic characters from the Empire, such as Death Troopers and Imperial Guards. Previous collaborations for Destiny 2 have included items inspired by The Witcher, Mass Effect, and Assassin’s Creed. Additionally, Bungie has unveiled a sneak peek of Destiny 2’s new dungeon, Sundered Doctrine, and extended an invitation to the game’s top players to compete in a race to complete it first.
