Since the release of The Edge of Fate expansion, Destiny 2’s competitive multiplayer has been offering incredibly powerful weapons. Because of this abundance of top-tier gear, a really good Auto Rifle called Auric Disabler hasn’t gotten the attention it deserves – it’s definitely worth trying to get a perfect version of it.
The recent Trials of Osiris brought new gear, including the Aureus Neutralizer, and brought back popular favorites Aisha’s Embrace and Burden of Guilt. These items quickly became powerful choices in the game, even outperforming the Auric Disabler, which is still a strong option.
If you enjoyed using the popular Ammit AR2, you’ll likely love Auric Disabler. Here’s a guide to the best perks to look for when this weapon appears in Trials of Osiris.

When using the Auric Disabler in player-versus-player combat, the best setup involves using Corkscrew Rifling on the barrel and Ricochet Rounds in the magazine. These upgrades significantly increase both range and stability.
Both Zen Moment and Dynamic Sway Reduction improve aiming precision, but they work in slightly different ways. We’ve included both options because which one is better often depends on what feels most comfortable for you.
When choosing a second perk, Target Lock generally gives you the biggest damage increase. However, Sword Logic and Kill Clip can also be good options. After that, focus on perks and your Masterwork that increase your weapon’s range.
When playing PvE, Auric Disabler offers a lot of flexibility. While Dragonfly and Sword Logic are good for general enemy clearing, Hatchling and Tear are even better choices if you want a reliable main weapon, as they really highlight the Disabler’s strengths as a Strand Auto Rifle.
For any perks you haven’t chosen yet, focus on increasing how quickly you reload your weapon to minimize the time you spend unable to fire.
That covers everything important about the Auric Disabler, but it’s not the only powerful weapon in Destiny 2 right now. If you’re looking for more ideas to build your character, check out our guides for the Seraphine Haze and Unfall weapons.
