Derek Hough, a judge on Dancing with the Stars, and his wife, Hayley Erbert Hough, recently welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Everley Capri Hough, on December 29th. They shared the happy news on Instagram with a sweet photo of Everley’s feet and a heartfelt message about how much their lives have changed. Friends and family, including Derek’s sister Julianne Hough and Emma Slater, quickly sent their congratulations. Derek and Hayley got married in August 2023, after first meeting in 2014 while Hayley performed on the Move Live Tour with the Hough siblings.
Just a few months ago, Derek spoke about how thrilled he was to become a father. He described feeling the baby kick for the first time as a powerful, life-changing moment – exactly as everyone had told him it would be. He said it made him realize he was about to experience something completely new and unlike anything he’d felt before, and he was eagerly anticipating it.
The couple has openly discussed their difficulties with getting pregnant, particularly leading up to the expected arrival of their daughter. In an October 2025 Instagram post, they described their journey as filled with loss, love, joy, and sadness. While thrilled to be expecting their ‘rainbow baby,’ they also acknowledged and remembered a previous pregnancy that didn’t result in a live birth.
