Demon Prince Weakness in Elden Ring Nightreign

Elden Ring’s Nightreign is a challenging expedition where players must survive for three days. The first two nights pit players against exceptionally difficult bosses, many of which originally appeared in the Dark Souls series. One boss, in particular, can be quite tough if players aren’t careful. This guide provides a walkthrough of the Demon Prince boss fight, explaining how to defeat it efficiently.

How to Beat Demon Prince in Elden Ring Nightreign

To defeat the Demon Prince boss, players need to start the Balancers expedition. Choosing a Shifting Earth doesn’t affect which boss appears, as the Demon Prince can spawn regardless of the conditions. Either the Demon Prince or Lord of Blood (also known as Mohg from Elden Ring) can appear as the night boss, with Mohg being the more common encounter.

You can easily predict the second night’s boss by observing the first night’s encounter. If the first night features the Curseblade and Divine Warrior duo, you’re certain to face Mohg on night two. Alternatively, if you encounter the Demon from Below and the Demon in Pain, that confirms the Demon Prince will be the boss on night two.

The battle with the Demon Prince begins on the first night. How you approach it depends on which of the earlier demons – the Demon in Pain or the Demon from Below – you defeat first, as this changes the Demon Prince you’ll face on the second night. Thankfully, neither of these initial demons is very challenging, particularly when playing with a group of three.

Your goal should be to defeat the Demon in Pain first.

Taking down the first Demon first makes the Demon Prince fight harder, as he’ll rely heavily on fiery attacks that are tough to avoid and can quickly deplete your health flasks. The second version of the Demon Prince is more manageable, largely due to a difference in his beam attack. He jumps back, charges up, and then fires a sweeping beam that moves back and forth across a wide area.

Stay close to the Demon Prince, particularly when it jumps – that’s your chance to attack it from behind. The beam attack gives you enough time to do significant damage. Just be careful, because sometimes the Demon Prince does a different jump that creates spreading fire, which can seriously hurt you.

This boss is tough and deals high damage, so timing your Ultimate Arts carefully is key, particularly if you have an Undertaker in your party. Defeating the boss will reward you with a Dormant Power, allowing you to progress to the final area before facing the Balancers.
