The team behind Demon Kill Demon ~Yomi 1984~ has been sharing news about the game through press releases in Japan. They’re slowly revealing what roles players can take on with each character, and are also introducing the main characters and the story.

Akifumi Yamamoto, known for his work on games like Death Mark and Monkarufanta: The Hero and the Crystal Girl, designed the characters. This dungeon crawler RPG features eight character classes, similar to the previous game, Undernauts: Labyrinth of Yomi, and allows for party member customization. Players can find items within the dungeons to promote their characters to advanced classes, specializing them as either Generalized or Expert, with Expert classes unlocking unique skills.

  • Tactician – The main frontline member who excels in close-range combat. They can use various items with the power to hold back enemies on their own.
    • Big Swing – Deals a dispersing damage to an enemy target and those to their left and right.
    • Attack Prioritization (Expert Tactician-exclusive skill) – Increases attack power but decreases physical defense for 4 turns
       
  • Fencer – An attack-focused sword user who can cut the enemy with a single sharp attack. Despite showing a large gap, they hide explosive power that can turn the tide at critical moments.
    • Understanding of Preparedness – Increases attack power on the next turn after receiving an attack
    • Blood-Sucking Slash (Expert Fencer-exclusive skill) – Deals damage to an enemy while healing themself
       
  • Fighter – A heretic frontline member who fights with their own body without relying on weapons. They show their worth in long-period battles due to their self-resuscitation abilities and combo attacks.
    • Whirlwind Strike – A ranged attack that covers an enemy line
    • Fang Breaker (Expert Fighter-exclusive skill) – Deals massive damage to an enemy while absorbing their attack power
       
  • Bulwark – A guardian who secures the frontline with heavy equipment and defensive abilities. They take on enemies’ fierce attacks to let other allies perform their actions safely.
    • Single Protection – Ensures protection against a single attack on an ally
    • Targeted Counterattack (Expert Bulwark-exclusive skill) – Attract an attack from an enemy and counterattacks once
       
  • Ninja – An assassin with finesse who uses evasions and surprise attacks as their weapons of choice. They make the very battlefield unstable by breaking through enemies’ actions.
    • Substitution Technique – Evades an attack with a certain amount of probability
    • Spider Web Binding (Expert Ninja-exclusive skill) – Makes an enemy unable to act while the user is in a concealed state
       
  • Hunter – A precise shooter who whittles down enemies from distance. They can provide stable firepower without stepping into the danger zone.
    • Legs Targeting – A high-accuracy attack that reduces an enemy’s evasion stat
    • Sweeping Fire (Expert Hunter-exclusive skill) – Sacrifices accuracy to launch long-range attacks against all enemies
       
  • Cleric – The core supporter who removes wounds and abnormalities. They are also the last bastion that restores the almost broken battlefield.
    • Multi Medi – Heals the HP of all allies
    • Gamma Mess – Attacks an enemy with a probability of inflicting Instant Death (range increases to an enemy line at level 3 or higher)
       
  • Sorcerer – A backline attacker who burns through the enemy formation with powerful spells. They can bring advantages to battles by continuously whittling down enemies.
    • Pyrokinesis – A fire-elemental attack against an enemy (range increases to an enemy line at level 3 or higher)
    • Dark Catastrophe (Expert Sorcerer-exclusive skill) – A dark-elemental attack against all enemies (damage decreases the more enemies there are)

Key Characters

  • Hairi Amakawa – A girl who still has some reasoning power, although she ended up becoming a demon due to her lack of compatibility as an Undernaut. A rare existence who takes an appearance like a cat due to her admiration towards idols.
     
  • Nadeshiko Yasaka – A girl who rebelled from the Camp after turning into a rampaging Demon. Although she attacks people who are consumed with desire, she does not seem to lay a hand on those who hold some special feelings.
     
  • Michael Gond – The commander of X Camp. He lost his right leg when he was resuscitated, but he continues to stand on the frontlines to protect the survivors.
     
  • Maria Hoover – The head of the Hoover family, who is also the governor-general of Yomi Union. Despite her young age, she can rule the Yomi district like a dictator due to her vast wealth and political skills.
