I’m so excited! Unison Games just dropped a demo for Descent of Lunaris on its Steam page! It’s a dungeon crawler that’s clearly inspired by Shin Megami Tensei, and I can’t wait to try it out. The full game is coming to PC later this year, which I’m really looking forward to.
I’m really excited about Descent of Lunaris! It’s a new game that mixes fast-paced, first-person dungeon crawling with more strategic, grid-based battles – sounds like a cool combination. The developers at Unison Games have said it’s aimed at people who love games like Persona, Shin Megami Tensei, and the classic Wizardry, which definitely has me hooked!

It’s 2070, and a lunar mining crew detects a strange signal coming from within the moon itself. The discovery causes all the robots and electronic equipment on the base to malfunction, resulting in many deaths.
Investigators from around the globe, each with unique skills, were brought in to look into a strange event and uncover its source. Their investigation will lead to a discovery that alters the future of humanity.
Traveling deeper inside the moon, they encounter strange, distorted versions of our own world – familiar buildings, stories, and beliefs, but twisted and unsettling. It’s unclear if this is a trial, or a consequence for what it means to be human.

Descent of Lunaris is a nostalgic tribute to old-school dungeon-crawling RPGs. Players venture into a mysterious underground world to discover the origin of a strange signal that brought them there, but they’ll soon find that things aren’t what they appear to be.
Embark on a lunar adventure in this retro-style RPG! Build your team at the moon base, then descend into the depths of a grid-based dungeon to uncover its secrets.
- Meet Strange Characters: Find and befriend allies or make enemies within each dungeon for access to more loot, rewards, and information that will aid in your exploration of new areas.
- Create Your Perfect Team: Customize your operatives’ abilities, unlock new subclasses, change up your gear, and upgrade your characters to customize your play experience and tackle your enemies in a style that suits you.
- Immersive First-Person Exploration: Travel through the world beneath the lunar surface and explore the dungeons to find out what lies beneath. Defeat powerful enemies to level up your team and gain access to new areas.
- Dynamic Combat Encounters: Fight your way through enemy encounters with traditional formation combat and tactical grid based combat. Strategize your encounters to protect your team and get the upper hand.
