Okay, so Death Stranding 2: On the Beach finally dropped on the PS5 on June 26th, 2025, and honestly, it’s been blowing everyone away. Seriously, a ton of people are saying it’s even better than the first game! It’s nominated for Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2025, and I actually think it has a real chance of taking it home this year.
Currently, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is only available on PlayStation 5, but that might not be the case for long. A listing on the ESRB website suggests a PC version of the game is in development, hinting it will soon be released on more platforms.
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach PC Launch Is Imminent
Getting a rating from the ESRB or another ratings board usually signals that a game is about to be released. This is particularly true for games already available on some platforms, especially if the new version will be identical to the original.
Now that Death Stranding 2: On the Beach came out in June, the game’s ESRB rating hints it might be released as soon as next month. With The Game Awards 2025 happening in December, that would be an ideal event to reveal the PC version, given Hideo Kojima’s close relationship with Geoff Keighley.
Okay, so there’s been a lot of talk about Sony trying to release games on PC and PlayStation at the same time, and apparently some developers aren’t thrilled about it. I’ve heard Square Enix has been asking questions, which doesn’t surprise me. Honestly, if Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is only on PS5 for six months, I’d get it – Kojima probably wants as many people to play as possible. But the real thing I’m wondering is when we’re going to see it on Xbox Series X/S, or even if it’ll come to the new Nintendo Switch 2. That’s what I’m really curious about.
