Netflix has released the trailer for the second half of Bridgerton‘s fourth season, and things are heating up for Sophie and Benedict. We first saw them meet at a masked ball, where Sophie had to conceal her identity from her cruel stepmother. Benedict then offered her a position as his mistress, but she refused. Now, the consequences of their connection are still unfolding. “Being a mistress is the last thing I want,” Sophie tells him. Benedict replies, “How else can I be with someone society deems unacceptable?”
The trailer hints at a passionate speech from Benedict, similar to Anthony’s famous monologue from season two. He declares, “I cannot love a maid,” followed by, “And yet you have taken possession of me,” before sharing a kiss with her while she’s still in her uniform. This scandalous moment is likely to shake up the Bridgerton world. Adding to the drama, Mama Bridgerton warns, “There is one sacrifice that you will have to make… your family.” Fans will have to wait until February 26th to see what Benedict chooses when the second part of season four premieres.
