‘Deadpool & Wolverine’s’ Cut X-Rated Disney Diss Revealed: Script Still Has ‘Mickey Mouse C—‘ Joke

As a seasoned cinema enthusiast with over three decades of movie-going under my belt, I must admit that the latest Disney production, “Deadpool & Wolverine,” has left me both entertained and intrigued. The film’s unapologetic humor and daring approach to tackling taboo topics have breathed fresh air into the superhero genre.

Disney’s adult-oriented action-comedy “Deadpool & Wolverine” proved to be a blockbuster hit this summer. The creative team appreciated Disney for allowing them to make numerous jokes at Marvel Cinematic Universe, the actors’ private lives, and other topics usually considered off-limits. However, there was one joke that Ryan Reynolds was instructed not to include by the company.

Prior to the film’s premiere, Reynolds disclosed that a Deadpool joke was omitted from the movie. The original joke, as written in the official script released by Disney’s FYC portal, occurs after Deadpool discovers Magneto is deceased. In this scene, Deadpool expresses his frustration by breaking the fourth wall: “DAMN IT! We can’t even get one more X-Man? Disney is so cost-conscious. I’m choking on all this Mickey Mouse merchandise!

Director Shawn Levy previously spoke with Entertainment Weekly about the line.

“There was only one line in the entire movie that we were asked to change,” he said. “We have made a pact, Ryan and I, to go to our grave with that line, but I will say that it was replaced with an equally dirty line of dialogue about Pinocchio shoving his face up Deadpool’s ass and starting to lie like crazy. I was like, ‘Ryan, that’s your replacement line in response to, ‘Can we clean it up?’ That’s Ryan Reynolds for you, audacious to the very edge.”

To savor more hilarious off-color humor not originally included, watch “Deadpool & Wolverine” on Disney+.
