An actress from the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine movie would like to have a bigger role in a potential Deadpool 4. Although the first Deadpool film from Marvel Studios featured many famous superhero actors, the story mainly centered around Deadpool and Wolverine. As Deadpool’s adventures continue, there could be opportunities for other characters to become more central to the plot.
Morena Baccarin, known for playing Vanessa in the Deadpool movies, would like to be more involved in the next Deadpool film made by Marvel Studios. In a recent interview with Variety, she shared how surprised she is by the success of the franchise, saying she never expected it to become so popular. She’s hoping for a larger role and more screen time in the upcoming movie, Deadpool & Wolverine, than she had in the previous films.
Wow, it’s hard to believe it’s been nearly ten years since we filmed the first movie! Honestly, I never expected it to become what it did. We had an absolute blast making it – it was just a really fun world to be a part of. I’m really hoping I get to contribute to future installments, maybe even more than I did with the last one. I get it though, it really leaned into that ‘bro comedy’ vibe, and that’s what people loved.

Morena Baccarin returned as Vanessa Carlysle in Deadpool & Wolverine, but her appearance was brief. She shared a scene with Deadpool at the start of the movie for his birthday party, and after the heroes defeated Cassandra Nova, she and Deadpool exchanged a meaningful look, hinting at a renewed romance similar to what fans saw in the first two Deadpool films.
Deadpool & Wolverine is a new movie from Marvel Studios, marking the first R-rated film in the franchise. Starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, the story follows Deadpool’s journey to fix his place in the timeline and find Wolverine, who he needs to save his universe. You can now watch Deadpool & Wolverine on Disney+.
What To Expect From Morena Baccarin’s Vanessa in Deadpool 4

Marvel Studios is planning a fourth Deadpool film, though it’s likely still a ways off. If it happens, Morena Baccarin could reprise her role as Vanessa, and there are many potential storylines for her character.
You know, it’s cool how Vanessa actually becomes a hero herself in the comics – she goes by Copycat! It’s a bit heartbreaking, but after Wade leaves her when he finds out about his cancer, she kind of reinvents herself as a mercenary. She uses her ability to shapeshift and ends up crossing paths with some really interesting characters, like Cable and the whole New Mutants crew. It adds a lot to her story, honestly.
Now that Vanessa survived the events of Deadpool 2 thanks to Wade altering the timeline, Marvel can finally delve into her history as a mutant – something the earlier films didn’t do. With the Marvel Cinematic Universe preparing to introduce more mutants before its first X-Men movie (likely in Phase 7), Vanessa and Wade could be key to connecting the mutants from the previous Fox films with the new X-Men appearing in the main MCU timeline.
