Deadpool Makes A Comeback With Must-Have Collector’s Items

It’s clear that Deadpool loves a good joke, so if he doesn’t celebrate Canada Day, April Fool’s Day is likely his favorite holiday. Fittingly, there’s a special Deadpool-related event happening today, and it’s definitely not a hoax!

Topps is teaming up with Marvel to launch a new collection of trading cards featuring the one and only Deadpool.

I’m really excited about this new card set! It’s a fantastic way to celebrate Deadpool’s amazing run in the movies. Each pack comes with scene cards from his best on-screen moments. It’s funny though – knowing Deadpool, it seems like they’re intentionally leaving out anything about his early backstory – you won’t find any cards about the experiment that gave him his look, like the stitched mouth, laser eyes, or those cool retractable blades! It’s a clever little detail that just feels so Deadpool.

Fans can look forward to cards featuring important scenes from Deadpool’s more recent movies. These include his first solo film in 2016, the sequel Deadpool 2 in 2018, and his and Hugh Jackman’s first appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the 2024 film Deadpool & Wolverine.

The Topps Deadpool card set also includes cards of popular supporting characters from the movies. For example, Rob Delaney’s character Peter, a suburban dad who becomes part of the X-Force in Deadpool 2, is featured. So is B-15, the head of the Time Variance Authority from the Loki series, played by an Oscar-nominated actress.

This 100-card collection features rare Autograph Issue cards. It includes a card with a picture of X-23 from Deadpool & Wolverine, signed by Dafne Keen, and a card of Cable from Deadpool 2 with a signature from Academy Award nominee Josh Brolin.

Topps’ Deadpool Trading Cards Come Just In Time For The Character’s Anniversary

Topps is launching a new series of Deadpool trading cards, perfectly timed for April Fool’s Day in 2026. The release also celebrates a significant anniversary for the popular Deadpool character.

February celebrated 35 years since the first appearance of the character Wade Wilson, created by Rob Liefeld and Fabian Nicieza in The New Mutants #98, which was published on February 11, 1991. However, the original depiction of Wade Wilson is quite different from how he’s known today.

Deathstroke, the DC Comics villain also known as Slade Wilson, is famous for his mask and skill with both pistols and swords. A recent joke played on this character involved giving Deadpool a very sincere personality, mirroring the way creators Liefeld and Nicieza intentionally made Deathstroke an exaggerated and comical figure.

Six years after his first appearance, Deadpool finally got his own Marvel comic series, and by then, he’d become the fast-talking, fourth-wall-breaking character fans love today. It’s his playful self-awareness and tendency to defy typical comic book tropes that have made him such a popular superhero.

After a successful team-up with Batman in a two-part comic series in 2025, 2026 promises to be another exciting year for Deadpool. In February, a new Marvel comic book, Wade Wilson: Deadpool, was released, and rumors suggest a return to his classic red and black costume.

The Topps Chrome Marvel Deadpool Trading Card Set is now available for purchase.
