Deadliest Catch star’s mother begs network not to air footage of his death

Todd Meadows, a cast member on Discovery’s “Deadliest Catch,” tragically died in an accident while filming the show’s 22nd season. His mother has requested that the network refrain from broadcasting any footage related to his death.

Meadows was a crew member on the Aleutian Lady, a fishing boat featured in Discovery Channel’s popular reality show, which has been running since 2005.

A 25-year-old man fell into the Bering Sea while working on a crab fishing boat about 150 miles north of Dutch Harbor, Alaska. Coast Guard officials said the crew pulled him out of the water ten minutes later, but he wasn’t breathing.

The Meadows family is devastated by the accident, and his mother has asked Warner Bros. Discovery not to broadcast the video of her son’s death.

Todd Meadows’ mother doesn’t want the network to profit from his death

Angela Meadows, whose son tragically died, has asked the creators of Deadliest Catch not to air any footage of the accident when the new season begins.

She stated they don’t want any video of the accident shown, and they don’t want Discovery to profit from their son’s death by airing it. They hope the network will only share positive memories of Todd from his time on the boat.

These statements were made soon after Trey John Green III, who shared a room with Meadows, verified that the show was being filmed when the accident happened.

Filming for ‘Discovery’ has wrapped, but a producer and camera operator were on board for the last two months shooting footage for Season 22. Thankfully, everything was captured on camera. There’s also a constant 24/7 deck camera that recorded the entire incident, according to a recent interview with Us Weekly.

Discovery hasn’t said what it plans to do with the video footage, but a spokesperson released a statement saying they were heartbroken by Todd Meadows’ death. They expressed sympathy for his family, fellow crew members, and everyone affected by this tragedy.

A fundraiser is underway to support the Meadows family. It aims to help with the care of his three sons, cover funeral costs, and provide financial relief in the coming months. As of today, over $47,000 has been donated.
