Dead by Daylight's November Developer Update Buffs The Houndmaster

As a seasoned Dead by Daylight player with countless hours under my belt, I must admit, this latest 8.4.0 update has left me both thrilled and slightly apprehensive. The Houndmaster‘s buffs, particularly the reduced cooldown on Search Command and the improved Chase Command, have definitely added a new layer of excitement to the game. The increased mobility and effectiveness of the killer duo is certainly intriguing.

In the November 8.4.0 update for Dead by Daylight, the game developers made improvements (buffed) to the most recent killer, The Houndmaster, enhancing her abilities significantly. However, one of the new Survivor Taurie Cain’s perks was also reduced (nerfed). The cooldown time for The Houndmaster’s Search Command will now be shorter, allowing her to deploy her dog Snug more frequently. Additionally, her Chase Command will become more potent with quicker acceleration during pursuits.

The upcoming 8.4.0 Update is here to unveil the improvements we’ve made based on your valuable input, focusing primarily on the content presented within our latest chapter. Expect further balance adjustments in the updates that follow this chapter’s launch. Stay tuned to Reddit for more details!

The developers have introduced some notable adjustments to both the speed at which characters can move and the detection radius of Houndsense around Snug. By decreasing the cool-down period, we anticipate that players will be able to swiftly navigate to a location, identify Survivors, and initiate the Chase Command right away.

As a devoted fan, I find myself sharing an update on Survivor Taurie Cain’s ‘Shoulder the Burden’ perk, which is taking a significant hit in this latest version. The duration of time Survivors are exposed has been doubled, increasing from 30 seconds to a hefty 60 seconds. This perk empowers players to swap hook states with a fellow Survivor.

The developers mentioned that they found the duration of the ‘Exposed’ state associated with the perk a bit brief considering its potential strength in trading hook positions with other players. They aimed to adjust it so that the risk-reward balance would be more even.

As a die-hard fan, I’m eagerly anticipating the upcoming modifications in Dead by Daylight, drawn directly from player insights gleaned during the Public Test Build (PTB). However, it’s important to note that these alterations may still undergo additional tweaks in the future.
