Dead by Daylight’s Freddy Krueger Gets A Major Rework In Today’s Update

As a diehard fan of Dead by Daylight, I’m super excited about the overhaul coming for Freddy Krueger, aka The Nightmare, starting today in PTB! This revamp introduces Dream Snares and Dream Pallets to his core abilities, offering players a whole new level of strategy when going up against this terrifying dream-weaver. What’s more, The Nightmare can now zip to any generator on the map – yes, even those that are completed, not yet started, or in endgame! This means he’ll be able to move around the map with a lot more agility and unpredictability, making each game against him a real nightmare (pun intended) for survivors.

Enhancing Freddy Krueger’s abilities further enables him to swiftly transport himself to survivors who are healing. If survivors attempt to heal a slumbering comrade or are themselves asleep, their location becomes visible to the Killer (Killer Instinct is triggered). In turn, Freddy can instantaneously move towards these visible survivors within the Dream World at his discretion.

Today marks the launch of the 8.5.0 update, featuring:

* Updates to existing Perks
* New additions

With the adjustments to Freddy’s skills, his additional features and special abilities have also received some modifications. Fire Up now has increased values, allowing players to accumulate more tokens using Fire Up. These alterations address several concerns about Freddy Krueger that many fans have voiced for quite a while.

The update incorporates numerous alterations to Freddy Krueger, encompassing modifications to his powers and additional features. These adjustments have garnered positive feedback from the Dead by Daylight community, with many expressing that they were long overdue. However, there are some voices suggesting he might be too powerful in the future, necessitating potential further tweaks. For now, these alterations can only be experienced within the game’s Public Test Build environment. It is anticipated that Freddy Krueger’s set of abilities (his kit) may undergo additional modifications before the rework is implemented into the main game.
