As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent navigating the treacherous terrain of The Fog, this announcement feels like a gut punch. Dead by Daylight Mobile has been my go-to survival horror game on the go, and the thought of saying goodbye to it fills me with a sense of melancholy that’s only rivaled by the despair I feel when a Killer hooks me in a game.
After much anticipation, it has been confirmed that Dead by Daylight Mobile will permanently cease operations on March 20, 2025. This means that from this date forward, players won’t be able to enjoy the game on its servers. The game will no longer be available for download on the App Store and Google Play as of January 16, 2025, ensuring that no newcomers can access it. However, players will still be able to make in-game purchases up until Dead by Daylight Mobile is removed from the app stores in January.
“Dear People of The Fog, the team at NetEase Games is deeply saddened to announce that Dead by Daylight Mobile will officially be leaving app stores on Thursday January 16, 2025, and ceasing operations entirely as of Thursday March 20,” NetEase Games wrote. “While this has been an extremely difficult decision, we remain eternally grateful for the time you’ve chosen to spend with us in The Fog.”
To the Inhabitants of the Mist,
With a heavy heart, the team at NetEase Games regrets to inform you that Dead by Daylight Mobile will be removed from app stores on January 16th, 2025, and all operations for this game will conclude completely on March 20th.

Speculations about the shutdown of the game surfaced as early as October, when developers deleted questions regarding the game’s future from Q&A sections and unexpectedly cancelled a scheduled Q&A session without explanation. Additionally, they extended the ongoing Rift until March 20th, which we now understand is the final day of the game’s service. On October 10th, the game released its last update and patch notes.
Developers affirmed that they will carry on creating, maintaining, and expanding the Dead by Daylight game for both PC and console. Players transitioning to either platform will be greeted with a Starter Kit, which includes loyalty rewards proportional to the money spent and experience points earned in the mobile version of Dead by Daylight.
The Welcome Package can be claimed by all DBD Mobile players, even if you also already play on PC or console. It includes a standard welcome gift for all players consisting of 500,000 Bloodpoints and 2,250 Iridescent Shards. You’ll also get more Auric Cells and Iridescent Shards depending on how much you spent on the game, and you’ll receive Bloodpoints based on your total XP earned/player level.
