Born and raised in Montreal, Haddon’s bilingual skills were not just confined to her native language but also translated into her graceful strides on the runway for iconic brands like Revlon, Estee Lauder, Clairol, and Max Factor.

76-year-old Canadian actress and model Dayle Haddon passed away on Friday, suspected to be due to carbon monoxide poisoning that occurred at her son-in-law’s home, Marc Blucas, who is known for his role in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Haddon’s body was found in Blucas’ residence located in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. CBS reported that a police officer mentioned elevated levels of carbon monoxide within the premises. Suspicions also arose regarding a faulty heating system. However, it has not been confirmed whether Blucas was there at the time of Haddon’s passing.

Montreal-native Haddon fluently spoke both English and French. Her early aspirations were to be a ballet dancer, but she eventually transitioned into modeling for renowned brands like Revlon, Estee Lauder, Clairol, and Max Factor. Throughout her career, she graced the covers of Vogue multiple times. Furthermore, she was honored on the cover of the 1973 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and twice listed among Harper’s Bazaar’s “Ten Most Beautiful Women”.

In the early 1970s, Haddon shifted her career to acting. Her filmography spans titles such as “The World’s Greatest Athlete,” “Cheaters,” “Madame Claude,” “North Dallas Forty,” “Desert Chase,” “Cyborg,” and “Bullets Over Broadway.

Later on, she became the representative for L’Oreal’s line of anti-aging products, and also penned the book titled “Timeless Grace: A Woman’s Journey Towards Eternal Beauty and Vitality.

Apart from his other achievements, Haddon served as a representative for UNICEF, the United Nations Children’s Fund, and was the founder of WomenOne, a New York-based group dedicated to broadening educational prospects for women.
