Charlie Cox confirms Daredevil is not in Spider-Man: Brand New Day
On Jimmy Kimmel’s show, the host questioned Charlie Cox about the new trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Kimmel specifically asked if Daredevil would appear in the film.
When asked about appearing in the film, Cox gave a firm “No.” He immediately followed up with the typical response from Marvel actors, explaining, “If I were in it, I’d also say no, just to be clear.” He clarified that he wasn’t actually in the movie. The conversation then became a bit of a back-and-forth, with Kimmel playfully suggesting Cox might not be telling the truth. Cox firmly insisted, “I’m definitely not in the movie. I’m not lying.”
Cox confirmed he’d been part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe before, stating, “I was in the last one, No Way Home.” Fans were excited to see him briefly appear in that film, catching a brick thrown through Peter Parker’s window.
The announcement comes at a perfect time, as a new trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day has quickly become a huge hit online. The trailer shows exciting appearances by Jon Bernthal as the Punisher, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, and Michael Mando as Scorpion.
A brief scene in the movie trailer has gotten fans talking. At about the 36-second point, actress Zabryna Guevara gives Spider-Man a key to the city. Because she also plays a character connected to the villain Wilson Fisk in the Daredevil: Born Again series, viewers are starting to speculate about a possible connection between the two storylines.
