Daredevil Born Again Star Unveils Major Netflix Reunion For Season 2 (Photos)

Recent photos reveal another reunion happening for the upcoming second season of Daredevil: Born Again. Following Charlie Cox’s return as Daredevil in 2025, the show will continue in 2026, bringing back more characters from the original Netflix Marvel series. Among those returning is Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, the super-powered private investigator, marking her first appearance in the Marvel universe since her show ended over five years ago.

Liv Tyler isn’t the only returning actor for the new Marvel series. Royce Johnson, who played former NYPD officer Brett Mahoney, will also be back. While fans have already seen photos of Liv Tyler promoting the season, the announcement of Johnson’s return was handled a bit differently.

Charlie Cox shared a first look at the upcoming Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again on his Instagram account. The post included exciting photos of him back with some of his former Daredevil co-stars from the Netflix series.

This behind-the-scenes reel features photos from the new series, including pictures of Chris Evans with Charlie Cox (Daredevil) and Jon Bernthal (The Punisher), as well as Deborah Ann Woll, who plays Karen Page.

Fans are getting their first look at the main cast reuniting for the upcoming Netflix series, as production on Born Again brings together actors who previously appeared in the popular Defenders Saga.

Brett Mahoney, played by Johnson, was a recurring character in the original Daredevil series, and also appeared in episodes of Jessica Jones and The Punisher. Within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Mahoney is a retired police officer who teams up with lawyers Matt Murdock and Foggy Nelson, helping them investigate crimes to build stronger cases.

The second season of Daredevil: Born Again will depict a New York City torn by conflict, leading Daredevil (played by Charlie Cox) to assemble a team to fight the corrupt Mayor Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio). Given his background in the NYPD, actor Wilson Mahoney would be a great fit for this new team. Born Again Season 2 is expected to premiere on Disney+ in March, and Marvel has already approved a third season.

Who Else Could Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Be Hiding?

Fans were already aware Royce Johnson would return for the second season of Daredevil: Born Again, but seeing him back in costume is bound to spark a lot of discussion and theories.

Brett Mahoney, who worked on the Netflix series Daredevil, is the newest cast member to join the upcoming Daredevil revival on Disney+. Krysten Ritter is also confirmed to reprise her role as Jessica Jones in the show’s second season, and Marvel Studios may have even more actors from the original Defenders series lined up to appear.

A recent post by actor Mike Colter, known for his role as Luke Cage, has fans wondering if his character might return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. If he did, it would mean only a handful of significant characters from the original Marvel Netflix shows haven’t yet appeared in this new version of the Daredevil storyline.

Many fans have hoped to see Finn Jones reprise his role as Iron Fist in the upcoming Born Again series, but there’s been no indication that will happen. The same is true for Elodie Yung’s Elektra, despite reports that Spider-Man: Brand New Day will include The Hand – the organization Elektra leads.

This means the stage is now set for more familiar Marvel characters from the original Netflix series to appear in Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again, and fans shouldn’t be shocked if they do.
