Dario Scardapane, the showrunner for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, says Jessica Jones coming back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the most exciting part of the show’s storyline.
The latest season starts with Matt Murdock, played by Charlie Cox, fighting back against Mayor Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio). Fisk controls New York City with an iron fist, essentially turning it into a police state, and uses a special task force to arrest anyone who opposes him.
Rumors are circulating that Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again might include appearances by Marvel characters like Luke Cage and Iron Fist. Also, many fans believe Daredevil was intentionally left out of the trailer for the Spider-Man: Brand New Day game.
Krysten Ritter will reprise her role as Jessica Jones in the second season of Daredevil: Born Again. Showrunner Dario Scardapane and executive producer Sana Amanat have confirmed her return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the series.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 showrunner calls Jessica Jones’ return the “high point” of the story

In a recent conversation with TopMob about the upcoming season of Daredevil: Born Again, showrunners Scardapane and Amanat discussed the potential return of Jessica Jones. They noted that it’s been a significant amount of time since Jessica and Matt Murdock appeared together, last being seen on screen in the Netflix miniseries, The Defenders.
Amanat explained that they wanted to acknowledge the time that had passed since the characters were last seen, both in the story and in terms of production. The goal was to celebrate their return while also showing what the characters had been up to and presenting a new side of JJ.
She also said it’s really enjoyable to watch them work so well together, and it perfectly captures the spirit of the comics. Amanat, a big fan herself, continued, explaining that even just seeing them casually chatting together feels like it came straight out of a comic book.
Scardapane also mentioned enjoying writing the playful arguments between the characters, recalling a memorable threat Jessica made to Matt in The Defenders – she said she’d “punch him so hard he’d see stars.”
Writing the playful back-and-forth dialogue is a real highlight! We always felt JJ’s return would be a significant moment, and while you haven’t seen it yet, we believe her arrival is a peak for both the storyline and the audience’s enjoyment, according to the showrunner.
I always try to consider the viewer’s perspective when we’re making something. Since we’re often both filming and appearing on camera, we constantly ask ourselves, ‘How will people react to this?’ and aim for moments that will genuinely make them smile.
