The upcoming second season of Daredevil: Born Again might drastically alter Kingpin’s character, potentially making him unforgivable to the public. The first season explored the complicated and often damaging relationship between Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) and his wife, Vanessa (Ayelet Zurer), showcasing their strong but troubled connection. Through therapy sessions with Dr. Heather Glenn, hidden problems within their relationship were revealed, including Vanessa’s past affair with a man named Adam. This led to both characters gaining a clearer understanding of their issues and the state of their bond.

How Vanessa’s Possible Death Could Affect Kingpin (If He Killed Her)

If Vanessa dies in Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again, it would drastically change things for all the heroes and villains operating in the more grounded side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

If Kingpin were to kill his wife, it would likely confirm his complete mental breakdown, regardless of his intentions. It would also negate the positive impact of the therapy she received, which had seemingly made their bond incredibly strong.

Vanessa has always been the only person who truly understood Fisk – accepting him despite his darkness. Killing her would cut off his last connection to that understanding, and likely unleash his uncontrollable anger.

If Kingpin were to kill Vanessa, he’d be fully responsible for his actions. Usually, he deflects blame onto others – like Daredevil or Bullseye – to excuse his anger, but that wouldn’t be possible anymore.

Ultimately, if Kingpin were to kill Vanessa, it would demonstrate two key aspects of his character: he’s beyond redemption and views love as a way to control others, something he can cruelly revoke at any time.
