
Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande starred as Elphaba and Glinda in John M. Chu’s film adaptation of the popular Broadway musical Wicked, released in two parts – the first last year and the second this year.
Today, the Golden Globe nominations were revealed, and Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo achieved a historic milestone by both being nominated for their roles in Wicked: For Good.
This is a historic moment for the Golden Globes! The two actors have made history as the first from the same film to be nominated twice for their roles. Plus, Cynthia Erivo’s nomination is especially noteworthy – she’s the first Black woman to receive two nominations for Lead Actress in a Comedy at the Golden Globes.
