Cyberpunk 2077 mod gives Night City a VHS makeover
Instead of simply applying a standard filter, this modification accurately simulates the unique characteristics of older analog video, like screen warping and the lines that appear during scanning.
The creator of a new mod announced its release on Reddit, explaining they finally felt confident enough to share an update to their project, TapePunk. They shared that they dedicated a lot of time to researching VHS tapes and camcorders to ensure the mod’s visuals felt genuinely realistic.
This collection is built around a ‘found footage’ style, and the creator plans to add more options later on if it proves popular.
How to install the mod
- Install NOVA LUT
- Download ReShade_Setup_6.6.2 (or the latest version)
- Install all effects
- Drop the BIN folder into its correct location (contains required custom effects)
- Start the game
- Use 1080p resolution or lower for intended visuals, with max graphics, path tracing, and 30 FPS
- Click reshadepreset.ini at the top to switch between presets in the TapePunk pack
