Cyberpunk 2077 received another update, and with it, support for DLSS 4 technology on PCs.
You can now download the latest installment of the CD Projekt RED studio’s futuristic role-playing game on your personal computer, Xbox Series X/S, or PlayStation 5.
In simple terms, the game Cyberpunk 2077 has been updated to work with the latest image scaling technology from Nvidia on PC. Currently, it’s among only 75 games that support or plan to support this advantageous feature.
Beyond that, version 2.21 offers numerous upgrades across all three hardware systems. Notably, significant efforts have been focused on refining the photo mode feature. Additionally, improvements were implemented for customizing vehicles and player characters, and multiple occurrences of Johnny Silverhand duplicates in the passenger seat have been eliminated.
Below we have posted the full list of changes.
Cyberpunk 2077 2.21 – list of changes
Photo Mode
Nibbles and Adam Smasher can now be spawned while V is in the air or in water.
Fixed the Facial Expression option for Adam Smasher.
Fixed an issue where Adam Smasher’s glowing chest cyberware was missing.
Corrected a problem that occurred when Johnny’s Alternate Look was activated, causing both methods of summoning him (the standard and alternate versions) to appear as his alternate form instead.
Characters spawned while V is in the air or in water will no longer snap to the ground.
Characters will now be properly saved in presets.
Spawned characters will now be visible after adding a background.
V’s rotation and position will now be properly saved in presets.
I resolved a problem where moving the Up/Down slider for ‘V’ wasn’t altering its placement when set within specific value ranges.
NPCs that turn invisible after disabling the Surrounding NPCs option will no longer have collision.
As a gamer, I recently squashed a bug that used to pop up when I loaded a preset. This bug would sometimes make extra light sources show up even if they were turned off, or place them in the wrong spots within the game environment. Now, everything’s running smoothly without those unwanted light interruptions!
Fixed an issue where the camera could get stuck on walls after setting Full Collision to ON.
Fixed an issue where camera settings would only apply after loading a saved preset twice.
Enabling a background will no longer change camera position.
Rotating the camera will now work properly with a background enabled.
I’ll provide a solution for an instance where the “Move Camera” and “Rotate Camera” commands would show up even though the camera is unable to move, like in the case of using the First-Person Perspective camera.
I made adjustments so that those commands won’t appear when the camera can’t be moved, for example, when you’re using a First-Person view.
Resolved an issue preventing the camera from being moved following the appearance of a character, with the ‘Edit Character’ option emphasized.
As a gamer, I found out that when I turn off Chromatic Aberration in my graphics settings, I won’t be able to fiddle with it anymore.
As a gamer, I sorted out a snag where certain game items vanished from scenes after I toggled off the Surrounding NPCs setting. Now, everything’s back in place!
Fixed an issue where enabling PhysX Cloth would unfreeze NCPD vehicles.
The rule of thirds grid will now properly adapt to the selected aspect ratio.
Resolved a problem that prevented an image within a SmartFrame from appearing when the V character was not directly facing it.
I solved a problem that made the game freeze when you tried to open Photo Mode, Wardrobe, or Stash at the same time.
Resolved a problem that allowed users to enter the Photo Mode prematurely, before the save game had completely loaded. This resulted in the mode opening without an interface and preventing any subsequent actions.
Addressed various small problems encountered in the Photo Mode regarding character spawning, camera navigation, control functions, and additional aspects for a smoother user experience.
I’ve resolved several user interface problems found in the Photo Mode, SmartFrames, and Gallery menu sections. This included inconsistencies in sliders, translation mistakes, absent sound effects, unusual behavior while using specific features, and additional issues for a smoother user experience.
Vehicle Color Customization
Fixed several texture and color inconsistencies for vehicles that have CrystalCoat applied.
I made a correction by adding the description of the spray paint icon, which had previously been absent from the Autofixer tutorial’s pop-up window, following the completion of a vehicle contract.
Fixed several minor UI issues in the CrystalCoat and TwinTone menus.
Character Creation
In the Character Creation process, the Randomizer settings will now carry over when moving on to the Customize Attributes stage.
In character creation, I resolved a problem that prevented the Piercing Color option from appearing when piercings were enabled, even though the character (V) originally didn’t have any piercings.
I made some adjustments to address various smaller problems encountered during Character Creation, such as appearance settings not taking effect properly, visual overlaps (known as clipping), inconsistencies in user interface actions, malfunctions following the use of the randomizer, and other similar concerns.
Miscellaneous
In specific situations, a problem was resolved that prevented the Aguilar imprint from being turned off following a meeting with Bennett. (Or)
Under particular conditions, a bug was addressed which made it impossible to disable the Aguilar imprint post-Bennett meeting.
I’ll rephrase that for you: I corrected multiple occurrences where Johnny seemed to be duplicating himself in the passenger seat during certain missions, even though he was already visible in the scene.
Fixed an issue where Johnny did not appear as a passenger often enough.
Made a number of improvements to the actions of Non-Player Characters (NPCs) and vehicles during minor occurrences across Night City.
Fixed an issue where some vendors were not interactable as intended.
Fixed an issue where voiceovers on TV news channels could be missing or too quiet.
Rectified an error that was using the description of Quadra Turbo-R 740 for the Quadra Turbo-R V-Tech, instead of providing its distinct and exclusive description.
Fixed the missing 2.2 “check what’s new” pop-up in the main menu.
Console-specific
Corrected a problem that occurred when HDR10 was turned on, causing screenshots to appear as empty or black in the Xbox Gallery instead of displaying their intended content.
Introduced a notification pop-up within the Gallery for players, alerting them when their console’s privacy settings on Xbox prevent screenshot access.
On Xbox, any screenshots deleted outside of the Gallery User Interface will now be appropriately labeled within the Gallery, and they’ll vanish from their occupied spaces upon reopening the Gallery.
As an enthusiastic gamer, I recently took care of a snag that allowed the Graphics Mode on my Xbox Series S to default to Quality rather than Performance. Now, it’s all set for Performance mode straight out of the box!
PC-specific
Introducing support for DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, available starting January 30th, exclusively for GeForce RTX 50 Series graphics cards. This innovative feature leverages AI to create up to three frames for every traditionally rendered one, significantly increasing FPS. Moreover, DLSS 4 offers faster single Frame Generation and reduced memory usage on both RTX 50 and 40 Series.
Furthermore, you can now opt between the CNN model or the newly introduced Transformer model for DLSS Ray Reconstruction, DLSS Super Resolution, and DLAA across all GeForce RTX graphics cards. The new Transformer model not only improves stability, lighting, and detail in motion but also ensures a smoother gaming experience overall.
Fixed artifacts and smudging on in-game screens when using DLSS Ray Reconstruction.
In the Graphics Settings, when you toggle off the Resolution Scaling, the Frame Generation Field will correctly revert back to its default state.
