CD Projekt Group recently released its financial report for the third quarter of 2025, detailing the company’s performance. The report highlights strong sales figures for CD Projekt Red’s main game.
Cyberpunk 2077 better than The Witcher 3
Cyberpunk 2077 has become the best-selling game ever made by its developer, with over 35 million players worldwide. This is a faster pace than even The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which had sold around 28.3 million copies five years after its release. In the past year alone, over 5 million new people have started playing Cyberpunk 2077.

According to Piotr Nielubowicz, CD Projekt Group’s CFO, Cyberpunk 2077 continues to be the company’s biggest income generator.
Financially, CD Projekt can boast a very good third quarter of 2025.
- The Group’s total revenue hit almost 350 million PLN, which is over a 50% jump compared to the same time last year.
- Net profit reached 193 million PLN, which is almost two and a half times more than in the third quarter of 2024 and almost the same as in 2023, when the Phantom Liberty expansion was released.
- Since the beginning of 2025, CD Projekt generated 350 million PLN in profit, representing a 40% increase compared to the first three quarters of the previous year.
- The 55% net profitability and PLN 237 million in positive cash flows indicate a very healthy financial condition of the company.
- The total value of cash, deposits, and liquid bonds was 1.408 billion PLN, while spending on developing future projects hit 118 million PLN.

Cyberpunk 2’s team gets bigger
The report notes significant progress on Cyberpunk 2. The development team has grown to 135 people, up from 116 in July, indicating a considerable expansion of resources dedicated to the project.

But there’s more news. CD Projekt Red is planning to hire a lot more people in 2026 and 2027, with the team working on the game expected to grow to between 300 and 400 members by the end of 2027. Recently, they’ve also brought on Jess Scott, who previously led gameplay programming at Insomniac Games, and Liz Albl, a dialogue writer known for games like Ghost of Tsushima and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.
