Okay, so I just saw some reports from analysts, and it’s looking like we might have to wait a really long time for the next Cyberpunk game. Apparently, it’s now predicted to launch sometime in the 2030s – yeah, deep into the next decade! It’s a bit of a bummer, but hopefully, it means they’ll have plenty of time to make it amazing.
After a highly anticipated launch in December 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 faced initial criticism due to technical problems. However, the developers at CD Projekt Red worked hard over the following years to fix these issues and improve the game with updates and expansions. This dedication ultimately rebuilt player trust, turning Cyberpunk 2077 into a well-loved game with a dedicated fanbase that continues to thrive more than five years later.
Although fans are eager for a continuation of the Cyberpunk story, Cyberpunk 2 isn’t expected to come out for quite some time. Current estimates suggest a release in late 2030, and reports indicate it will have a substantial production budget.
Cyberpunk 2 release window & budget predicted by analysts
Noble Securities, a Polish analytics company, reports that the next installment of Cyberpunk is currently in development as an expansion. They shared this information in a recent post, which has been translated from Polish to English.
According to Noble Securities, CD Projekt Red is building a team of 135 developers for the next Cyberpunk game – their second major franchise. They plan to grow this team to 270 people over the next two years. Adding multiplayer features has slowed down development compared to their previous game, W4, and increased the project’s budget to 1.5 billion Polish Złoty. They currently anticipate releasing the game in the fourth quarter of 2030, which will be the 10-year anniversary of Cyberpunk 2077.

Considering this information, Cyberpunk 2 is likely to come out in late 2030, mirroring the release timing of the original game in December.
Plus, the new game’s budget seems similar to Cyberpunk 2077’s, around $419 million. This is a slight increase from the estimated $436 million spent on the first game.
This news arrives as CD Projekt Red is already busy with several projects. They’re still updating and supporting The Witcher 3, potentially with new downloadable content, and are actively working on the next installment, The Witcher 4.
