Fans watching Geoff Keighley’s awards show got a welcome surprise: Bandai Namco revealed Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve. This is the first brand-new game in the popular Ace Combat series since 2019.

For a long time, Ace Combat was a series strongly associated with PlayStation, similar to Gran Turismo. However, the sixth game in the series was released exclusively for Xbox. The most recent main installment, the seventh game, broke that trend and became available on multiple platforms – PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. It’s worth noting that Ace Combat: Assault Horizon, a spin-off title, also appeared on several different platforms.
Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve is set to launch in 2026 on PC, PS5, and XSX/S.
