Starting on April 1st, the beloved anime movie “Summer Wars” is releasing two new physical versions. One of these editions is an exclusive Limited Edition Steelbook available only on Amazon. This special version marks the first time the film will be presented in stunning 4K Ultra High Definition resolution. If you prefer to save $10, there’s also a standard Blu-ray edition offering 1080p resolution. Preorders for the Limited Edition Steelbook are open now at $37.
Summer Wars garnered widespread acclaim for its vivid animation and thought-provoking story about modern life within a digital landscape. The latest editions may not offer many additional features, but they do include numerous interviews featuring the original voice cast from the film, along with director Hosoda himself.

Summer Wars, released in 2009, was Makoto Shinkai’s second full-length anime after the 2006 cult phenomenon The Girl Who Leapt Through Time.
