CS2 star Ropz set to leave FaZe with Vitality super team waiting

As a dedicated fan who has witnessed Ropz’s incredible journey from Mouseports to becoming a key player at FaZe Clan, this news of his departure comes with a mix of emotions. The excitement of seeing him join Team Vitality and the anticipation of what he can achieve alongside the formidable CS2 stars is undeniably thrilling! However, I cannot help but feel a twinge of sadness as I bid farewell to his remarkable tenure at FaZe, where he contributed significantly to their trophy-laden run.

After two years with FaZe Clan, Counter-Strike prodigy Robin ‘Ropz’ Kool is moving on to Team Vitality without any transfer fees being paid.

The lineup of FaZe Clan’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team is about to undergo a transformation, as Ropz is leaving. Over the past two years, he has been an integral part of the championship-winning team.

Based on a recent report by HLTV’s Luis Mira and reporter Guillaume ‘neL’ Rathier, it appears that the Estonian sniper, known as Ropz, is expected to sign with Team Vitality. According to their findings, Ropz’s contract with FaZe Clan has come to an end, making him available for a free transfer to Team Vitality.

The move would see him join an already stacked roster consisting of CS2 stars Zywoo, flameZ, apEX, and mezii.

His joining (the team) will mark the departure of Lotan ‘Spinx’ Giladi from Vitality, as he has been sidelined since the summer recess.

In the ongoing transfer market, although G2’s plans for signing Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov seem to have stalled, possibly delaying the start of the transfer period, Vitality might soon be welcoming a new member. Spinx, currently under contract with another team, has been granted permission to explore his options. Here’s my update on the situation.

Ropz’s action indicates that the post-CS2 Major roster changes are now underway, as he’s not the only top player on the move. Formerly of G2 Esports, Niko ‘Niko’ Kovac is transferring to Team Falcons, where he will team up with Counter-Strike legend Emil ‘Magisk’ Reif.

It’s been whispered that the esports organization supported by Saudi Arabia also proposed a deal to Ilya ‘m0NESY’ Osipov, Niko’s teammate. However, according to HLTV, the promising talent has decided to stay with G2.

At present, they are keeping Snappi, Durpeeh, Maden, and SunPayus on their roster as they aim to make significant changes in the year 2025.

Ropz trophies with FaZe in Counter-Strike

In 2022, Ropz transitioned from Mouseports to join FaZe Clan, where he’s since had a successful journey with the North American team, marked by numerous trophies. Right off the bat, they clinched victory at the PGL Major Antwerp in the same year.

In the past two Major tournaments, FaZe has consistently finished in the runner-up position, and their player Ropz has frequently demonstrated exceptional performance akin to that of a Most Valuable Player (MVP).

Under the guidance of Finn ‘Karrigan’ Andersen, the FaZe team successfully accomplished the Intel Grand Slam, earning them a $1 million prize. Once more, Ropz played a crucial role in this achievement and it will be difficult for FaZe to find a suitable replacement for him.
