Fellow Greymanes,
It’s been almost three weeks since you joined Pywel, and we’ve been thrilled to see your activity and hear your thoughts. We’re using your feedback to constantly improve Crimson Desert and make it even more fun for everyone.
We’ve been so happy to see all the creative stories you’ve been sharing on Pywel – and we definitely appreciate all the cute cat pictures! A big thank you and congratulations to everyone earning the “Pywel Legend” achievement – we’re really impressed! It’s been amazing watching you all play since launch, and we’re incredibly grateful for your support and commitment.
We’re excited to give you a sneak peek at upcoming features and content! Based on your feedback, we’re working on new ways to enjoy the game, whether you’re looking for more casual experiences or tougher challenges. We plan to release these updates little by little between April and June.
New Content and Features
We’re creating new challenges to help you keep learning and improving as you explore Pywel.
Boss Rematches
You can now re-fight any of the challenging bosses you’ve already defeated in Crimson Desert! This rematch feature lets you test your progress, see how much stronger you’ve become, and experiment with new tactics to perfect your fighting style.
Re-blockading
Peace is temporary, and the enemy isn’t giving up without a fight. Remaining enemy forces are planning to retake areas we’ve already secured. We need to push them out again and show everyone how strong the Greymanes truly are.
Difficulty Settings
We’re adding difficulty settings to make the game enjoyable for all players, whether you’re new to Greymane or a seasoned veteran. You’ll be able to select from easy, normal, and hard modes to find the perfect challenge.
We’re also working on new combat-focused content, so stay tuned.
Improvements to Character Play
New Skills for Damiane and Oongka
We appreciate your feedback that Damiane and Oongka need abilities similar to “Force Palm” and “Axiom Force.” We’re adding new skills for both characters that will be on par with those powers.
Hide Back Weapons
We’re adding a feature that lets you hide weapons carried on your back. This will help keep the game looking more realistic during fights by preventing certain back-mounted equipment from being visually distracting.
Addition of New Outfits
We’re adding new outfits for characters. Plus, some outfits that were previously only available through selling or donating will now be wearable.
QoL Improvements and Life Features
New Specialized Storage
- Food storage: We plan to add a new food storage, from which you can directly take out ingredients for use in cooking. When preparing meals, you’ll be able to use ingredients from both your food storage and your inventory.
- Wardrobe: A new wardrobe storage will be added so that you can store your headgear, armor, gloves, footwear, and cloaks.
- Gatherables Storage: A new gatherables storage will be added, from which you can directly take out items for use in tempering and crafting. This storage will be able to hold a variety of crafting materials, including insects, stones, ores, and more.
- Collections Storage: A new Collection Storage will be added, giving you a place to keep quest items tied to your adventures, along with recipes and other items you’ve collected on your journey.
Pets & Mounts
We’re adding more mounts you can summon, as well as new pets to collect. Beyond the current horse armor options, we’re also planning armor for all other types of mounts.
System and Graphics Improvements
UI Improvements
We’re adding an option to adjust the minimum font size to make text easier to read. Because Crimson Desert supports 14 different languages, it will take some time to perfect this feature for everyone, but we’ll release it as soon as possible to improve your gaming experience. We’re also continuing to refine the user interface and quality-of-life features, like the map, inventory, and housing.
Improvements to Controls
We’ve been listening to your feedback on the controls, and we’re making improvements! Soon, you’ll be able to customize more controller settings, and we’re also adding more options to configure keyboard and mouse controls, making everything easier to use.
Improvements to Distant Scenery Quality
We’re making the backgrounds in Pywel more realistic, so the landscapes will feel more immersive. This update includes improvements to how distant scenery changes and how it looks in different conditions, which means the download size will be a little bigger than usual. Check out the image below to see a preview of the updated visuals!
This image was created on a powerful computer using Cinematic mode (4K resolution, with upscaling turned off). How it looks may vary based on your computer’s hardware, settings, and the platform you’re using.
Just in case you didn’t hear, the Crimson Desert soundtrack will be released soon! It’s free on Steam and will also be available on popular music streaming services, so keep an eye out for it!
The features we’re announcing today are still being worked on, so the final details and names might be different when the update officially comes out.
Thanks for reading this and for being a valued member of the Pywel community. We’re excited about these changes and will keep working hard to improve your experience based on your feedback.
