The person who made a widely-used tool for The Sims 4, allowing players to access over $1,500 worth of downloadable content without paying, has removed the tool and announced they are no longer working on it.
On November 20th, Anadius, the creator of the popular unofficial launcher, announced they were ending support for the tool. This has completely disabled the launcher, making it unusable even for those who previously downloaded it.
For years, a tool was shared online that let players illegally download all of The Sims 4 expansion packs instead of buying them from EA.
Anadius says the updater is “dead” after stepping down
Anadius announced the updater was temporarily unavailable in a forum post, but didn’t explain why.
I’ve decided to resign. Please don’t bother my friends – I was difficult right up until the end, and I haven’t explained my reasons to them. Also, the Sims 4 Updater is completely and utterly broken – it’s not working at all.
Users who previously installed the software update are now seeing a message saying the update process has ended and will no longer function, playfully stating, “Sims 4 Updater is dead, permanently this time. It was a good run, bye!”
The person who made the Sims 4 update tool – which allowed players to get $1,500 worth of free downloadable content – has stopped working on it and removed it from access. They left a final message saying, “All done! Have fun playing the game! :)”

Along with removing the launcher, Anadius has also deleted their X (formerly Twitter) profile and taken their website offline.
Although the launcher has been discontinued, Anadius confirmed that other popular tools will still be accessible, but they won’t be providing ongoing support or updates for them.
