Court documents reveal MrBeast’s plans to relaunch MrBeast Burger with help from McDonald’s

Court documents show that MrBeast was planning a new version of MrBeast Burger, hoping to partner with either McDonald’s or Burger King to make it happen.

Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, started his virtual restaurant, MrBeast Burger, in late 2020, but it is no longer operating.

Honestly, the buzz around this company was insane from the start. By 2022, they were already making over $100 million! And when they opened their first actual restaurant? Forget about it! Over ten thousand fans showed up, hoping to meet MrBeast and grab a burger. It was a total madhouse!

A little over two years after its launch, the brand failed following a legal dispute between the influencer and Virtual Dining Concepts (VDC). VDC runs “ghost kitchens” and had helped MrBeast Burger expand across the country.

In 2023, the YouTuber announced he was ready to stop working on his fast-food business. He explained that it had grown too large, making it impossible for him to ensure consistent quality.

Honestly, I think the biggest reason Jimmy Donaldson split with Virtual Dining Concepts was the food quality. So many fans, myself included, were getting burgers that just weren’t good – they were undercooked or just generally disappointing. It turned the whole MrBeast Burger thing into a bit of a mess online, and you could see why he needed to make a change.

MrBeast filed a lawsuit against VDC because the quality of their work had drastically declined, harming his reputation as a leading online creator. He also claimed he hadn’t received any of the $100 million his brand was reported to have earned.

VDC filed a countersuit for the same amount, arguing the YouTuber didn’t fulfill his end of their agreement and that his original lawsuit contained many false and inaccurate claims.

MrBeast wanted to relaunch ‘MrBeast Burger’ with help from McDonald’s

According to Business Insider, Mr. Donaldson was planning a major return while the lawsuit was ongoing in the summer of 2023. This plan was disclosed in text messages presented as evidence in court shortly after.

I’ve been following this situation, and it looks like MrBeast – Donaldson – wants to completely cut ties with VDC. He’s apparently asked them to end their partnership and, more importantly, he doesn’t want them using his name, face, or anything related to his brand in anything they do going forward. It sounds like he wants a clean break.

The YouTuber also intended to revive his restaurant business with a new version, ‘MrBeast Burger 2.0.’ Instead of using ghost kitchens this time, he hoped to collaborate with major fast-food chains such as McDonald’s or Burger King.

Having reached $100 million in sales, MrBeast was hoping to sell his company for between $300 and $400 million, which he described as a huge success.

Despite the initial plan, MrBeast Burger hasn’t really taken off. Since then, the brand has been on hold while MrBeast has pursued other projects, including starting a phone company and a banking app, and using his Feastables chocolate bars to fight child slavery in Africa.
