As a huge cinema fan, I’ve been following Connor Storrie – the star of Heated Rivalry – and things are really taking off for him! He’s incredibly busy, but he seems to be handling it all with grace and a great sense of humor. Just recently, he made his first appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers, and that was right after walking the Golden Globes red carpet with his co-star, Hudson Williams. Even though he was clearly exhausted, he absolutely killed it with some really funny bits on both shows.
During a segment on the Meyers show, the host used the format of “time jumps” from Heated Rivalry to playfully discuss the show’s intimate scenes in a way that was appropriate for television. Meyers asked if any footage filmed had been considered too explicit to include. Instead of getting an answer, the show jumped ahead “five minutes later.” Meyers reacted with surprise, and Storrie, slightly embarrassed, playfully stuck his tongue out as the audience applauded, acknowledging the suggestive topic. The show then jumped back to “three minutes earlier,” where Storrie asked a provocative question about “sex swings,” prompting an emphatic “DO I?” from Meyers. Finally, the segment jumped forward “two years later,” with Meyers congratulating Storrie on winning an Oscar, concluding with a quote from Ilya Rosanov: “Thank you.”
At the Golden Globes, actors Storrie and Williams were accompanied by UFC fighters acting as security, a testament to the show’s current popularity. While Williams remained composed, Storrie playfully pretended to be nervous about presenting, exaggerating his anxiety for comedic effect. This was a fun surprise, as Storrie’s character on Heated Rivalry is usually very serious. He clearly has a good sense of humor and isn’t afraid to be silly – someone get this guy in a comedy movie!
He’s relying on humor to cope with a crazy few days. After the Golden Globes, Storrie quickly stopped by an after-party at the Chateau Marmont – just long enough to greet Parker Posey and meet Amy Poehler – before rushing back on a plane to New York to see Meyers. With all that socializing in such a short time, you’ve got to be ready to have fun and go with the flow.
